I haven't looked at what the alternative games were on the weekends Setanta have chosen but games appear to be the best. TV games should mainly include the combination biggest clubs, biggest crowds, highest placed teams in the table (bit early to be using that one yet).
Does anybody know how much the clubs recieve per game.I would love to know how it compares to what clubs in league 2 get from Sky or the Blue Sq conference clubs get from Setanta.By the way the coverage of them Conference games is brilliant.Cameras in the dressing rooms and a reporter interviewing players on the bench when they have off come off .Real behind the scenes stuff anchored by Paul Parker.I would watch it over a Premier league game any day
Will these games clash with the GAA & Sunday Game on RTE?
Also I know in Galway if there is a big GAA match in Salthill traffic will be at a stand still for hours after it & you will get feck all to sit in ther car for an extra hour to get to Terryland.
I think sunday at 7pm is far better than monday nights if games are to be switched for tv. I always hated it last season when Bohs were playing on a monday. Worst night in the week for a match.
It really is pittance. But its more the exposure that seems to be important at the moment. maybe when the profile of the league is built up a bit then the revenue should increase.
I agree. Exposure is the big one. Plus, I know Harps sold extra advertising hoardings on a once off basis when they were on TV last season, so there is extra revenue to be generated in that manner as well.
