    The Ultimate Cycling Playlist

    Half serious, half joking. Help me collate the ultimate cycling playlist! Ideally, all would be related to cycling in some or other and have a decent beat, but jokes always welcome of course. Some initial thoughts;

    Kraftwerk - Tour de France
Digitalism - Nothing But Green Lights (Tom Vek Original)
    Queen - Bicycle Race
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Up Around The Bend
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Cake - The Distance
Hot Chip - Over And Over
    .

Thanks go to Noby for the inspiration.

Wouldn't really serve as cycling music per se but you've reminded me of a novelty tune I'd completely forgotten about for 20 years.

Dermot Morgan had a novelty single around 1987 entitled "Get outta that saddle Stephen" dedicated to Stephen Roche at the height of his powers when he won the Gira D'Italia, Tour de France and World Championship in the one year.

It wasn't much cop but I've a sentimental fondness for it all the same.

    Some choice lyrics -

"It's about another thousand miles to Paris - that's not far.
You're only gaspin for oxygen, I'm gaspin for a jar".
Quoting years at random since 1975

Very good lads! Along those lines, Ride Saddle Ride might be another one. All very good for making our take the pss playlist, but for the crucial matter of making the cut for the "Giro I Tell Ya" playlist (first trial will be tomorrow) I think there should be some resonance to the song as a whole rather than just a punny title. Which is why...
