Don't think Wes Brown is great myself but he's the best of a slightly above average bunch of right backs at the moment.

Ferdinand has done it at the highest level, was excellent in two world cups and has been the best centre back in Europe this season. Terry would be slightly dodgy but I think he would be comfortable with Rio beside him and protection from the midfield.

We've been thorugh Carrick before ()- how anyone doesn't rate him beggars belief. I think if we were exposed to as much La Liga/Serie A/whatever most people would rate him. Players of his style get virtual no credit in England.

Given the thousands upon thousands of Man United fans on the emerald isle, compared with the relatively small attendances at eL games, I'd say that your attitude to English football is more typical than his.

Just watching Carrick here he is clearly showing up Barry for being an average player. I am not quite sure how Carrick does not get in that team ahead of Barry. Carrick has been class against Villa.

Carrick has really come on leaps and bounds at United over the last 3 months, a much improved player from last season. I was a little sceptical at first as to whether he could make the step up into the 'big time' but he is starting to impress in his 2nd season.

Man Utd were outstanding today, the movement from their front 3....... when they are on form they are a sight to see.

carrick was brilliant again today, as was scholes. both of them dictated the play. carrick's probably my favourite united player now, love his style of football
