Interesting that neither Rico nor Connor were on MNS tonight...

I reckon Alan Matthews will be the next to get the bullet... a bit controversial but I think its a major jump up for him no offence to him..
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

V Drogs, i thought we played fairly well to be honest and if we had converted those two chances (which we really should have to be honest) then you wouldn't be able to shut City fans up today.

All we are short is goals, and we have the ability there so i'm not worried. Matthews came in to what people were describing as a depleted squad last year and made some good signings but he will need time to find his feet like any new manager. To call for his head without 15-20 games gone would be crazy and totally knee jerk reaction .... and i'm saying that in 15-20 games time we wont be having this conversation because we'll be well on the way by then.

    H Derry City
    A Cobh Ramblers
    H UCD
    A Galway United

Next four games are fairly handy for us. I think we'll beat Derry at home but if not our next three games are nothing we should be worried about to the point we'll sack out manager.

    Alan Matthews, safe as houses
Hmm, not so easy those next four matches, eh? Now is your opinion of Matthews the same?

Yes. Im far from happy about the way things are going, but he was handed a 3 year contract.

Given the amount we had to pay Rico off, we wont be paying off another manager anytime soon

Yeah, that's the difference- Matthews at the start of a 3 year contract, and no chance of Cork being relegated. Cousins at the end of a 2.5 year contract, and every bloody chance of a return to the wastelands, so the club had to act, short term pay-off for a (hopefully) long-term stay in the top flight

Mattews has problems there. O'Callaghan is either not good enough or out of position. I think hes gone back a lot since going to England. I could see Cork with a 4-3-3 which would make a lot more sense with a midfield of Gamble, Healy and O'Callaghan and 3 strikers up front or Kearney in midfield and O'Callaghan used as a striker. I said after the Drogs match on Setanta that George played very poorly in that position but Mattews doesn't seem to have ironed out problems in the pre season.
