Its very serious alright SR. All the slagging is just that - Munster rivalry and all that. Supporters of one team have got to have another that they need to beat. We can't all hate Shamrock Rovers - well we do but you know what I mean.

Hope we don't go out of business too - its a slippery slope and there's not a club in the First Division that isn't on thin ice.

Don't worry, it's unlikely that we'll actually go out of football. However we could end up becoming hopelessly uncompetitive unless something is sorted out. Apparently an interested consortium have pulled out because members of the existing committee have refused to step down so there's still a lot of negotiating to be done.

I was just browsing around the FAI website and found this articleon Lim FC...

"The club are looking for a new investor and have admitted that they may have to resign from the League if they don't get a financial boost in the short-term. Kerley has thanked all the businesses and supporters in the area who have made generous donations to the club since the news broke, but admitted that an investor was still needed if the club are to survive."

    What's the problem?
Are you guys massively in debt or something?
    If so, by how much?

We're not in debt at all just yet. However we have no money at all for things like paying players etc. You now little things like that . Unfortunately the commerical plans to raise over €200,000 never quite materialised and as a result we're broke.

The only time Limerick really had a successful soccer team was when Pat Grace bankrolled them in the 80's.
Hope another Coronal Sanders comes along quick.

Don't mention the war Estar. A huge part of the reason that Limerick senior soccer is despised in some circles in Limerick is becasue of said chicken man. For libel reasons this can't be gone into - send me a private message and I'll tell you.

Actually Pat Grace took over when Limerick were already successful. He took over in 1983 changing the name to Limerick City from Limerick United and moving the club away from the Markets Field to Rathbane, from which some have never recovered. Limerick United had won the league in 1980 and had competed in Europe in the three seasons prior to Pat Grace taking over. You could say thatit coincided with the start of the slide. Just hope you don't get too many rants based on your post.

I'm 100% behind Limerick to stay in the EL. It's just I was eating a KFC zinger today and it just came into my head. PM me with the inside info, like to hear the real story.

Good to hear ye got another 2 weeks

Best of luck in yer quest.
