Both Wexford and Monaghan are useless football teams, end.of.story
If it was based on support/attendences, there would be two if not three first division clubs heading to A league at seasons end. I cant see one club in particular being there next season. Sad to say but thats how i feel.
When fully fit we have a smattering of players that would walk on to any team in the division and will give anyone a game on their day.
Unfortunately this is mixed in with some absolute dross. At least three to four of our average starting eleven are nowhere near good enough.
Hence the worst team in years. The teams Noel O'Connor had in his second spell here in particular were positively dripping with talent by comparison.
I of course bow to your superior knowledge of the first divisionDon't think Monaghan should be in that category- win their game in hand against Kildare, which they would be expected to, and they would be in fourth place.
As for Wexford, if they won the league you'd probably still claim they're useless.
It maybe was a bit harsh depending on what you think of First Division football.I don't think so either but describing them as completely useless is very harsh them I feel.
Monaghan will struggle for goals big time and don't have any obvious quality.
I will be amazed (not the mention raging) if the likes of them finish above Limerick.
I genuinely think the three blocks I mentioned is how the league will pan out (In no particular order)
EDIT: This looks like I'm singling out Mon. I'm genuinely not, I think they are probably a slightly better side than Wexford and Kildare. I do think they will be slugging it out at that level though. But in fairness I couldn't see them finishing last for example.
Also feel I should point out that if Paddy never gets back to fitness and two or three of our boys leave in July and we don't stregthen the squad we're more than capable of dropping down into a relegation scrap.

We were in a similar predicament and were allowed. Wonder why you cant? Tis a strange ould world.
Aw yeah, we only had the 2 keepers.
It's my first season watcing Div 1 football having just moved back from abroad but i've seen our lot play Waterford & Shels and we were well worthy of points in both games. Also the reports i've heard from Dundalk were enocuraging, especially in the 2nd half. The Limerick game is probably the only one where we've genuinly played poor.
From what i've seen the gap between is and the "top 3" isnt so great, although like i say we've been playing well and it could all change if we hit a bad spell.

Even against us you could see that Wexford are genuinely at least trying to be a bit better than they were last year.
Absolutely atrocious team to watch last season and it's not just a bee in my own particular bonnet, I'm sure there are other first division fans somewhere who will vouch for me?!?!
They are a bit better (but not a hell of a lot at the same time mind) and this will be reflected in an improved points tally this season but with the local lads and Mick Wallace on the sideline I just don't think there is enough quality to get out of the bottom half.![]()
