It is very harsh indeed. Can see them finishing fourth-sixth depending on Fingal and Longford.

If it was based on support/attendences, there would be two if not three first division clubs heading to A league at seasons end. I cant see one club in particular being there next season. Sad to say but thats how i feel.

When fully fit we have a smattering of players that would walk on to any team in the division and will give anyone a game on their day.

Unfortunately this is mixed in with some absolute dross. At least three to four of our average starting eleven are nowhere near good enough.

Hence the worst team in years. The teams Noel O'Connor had in his second spell here in particular were positively dripping with talent by comparison.

Don't think Monaghan should be in that category- win their game in hand against Kildare, which they would be expected to, and they would be in fourth place.

As for Wexford, if they won the league you'd probably still claim they're useless.
I of course bow to your superior knowledge of the first division

I don't think so either but describing them as completely useless is very harsh them I feel.
It maybe was a bit harsh depending on what you think of First Division football.

Monaghan will struggle for goals big time and don't have any obvious quality.

I will be amazed (not the mention raging) if the likes of them finish above Limerick.

I genuinely think the three blocks I mentioned is how the league will pan out (In no particular order)

EDIT: This looks like I'm singling out Mon. I'm genuinely not, I think they are probably a slightly better side than Wexford and Kildare. I do think they will be slugging it out at that level though. But in fairness I couldn't see them finishing last for example.

Also feel I should point out that if Paddy never gets back to fitness and two or three of our boys leave in July and we don't stregthen the squad we're more than capable of dropping down into a relegation scrap.

For some reason we cannot do that. As I said I don't know the actual ruling

We have Ciaran Kelly (professional), Anthony Jinks (professional and GK coach) and Lee Gaffey (amateur) good keeper but not enough experience yet. he needs a season in the under 20s. There might be a reason in that.

It's my first season watcing Div 1 football having just moved back from abroad but i've seen our lot play Waterford & Shels and we were well worthy of points in both games. Also the reports i've heard from Dundalk were enocuraging, especially in the 2nd half. The Limerick game is probably the only one where we've genuinly played poor.

From what i've seen the gap between is and the "top 3" isnt so great, although like i say we've been playing well and it could all change if we hit a bad spell.

Even against us you could see that Wexford are genuinely at least trying to be a bit better than they were last year.

Absolutely atrocious team to watch last season and it's not just a bee in my own particular bonnet, I'm sure there are other first division fans somewhere who will vouch for me?!?!

They are a bit better (but not a hell of a lot at the same time mind) and this will be reflected in an improved points tally this season but with the local lads and Mick Wallace on the sideline I just don't think there is enough quality to get out of the bottom half.

Would it not have made sense not to sign Lee Gaffey until around the start of the 20s season if he wasn't going to be up to LoI??

Three keepers is your problem there alright.

All players that are likely to make the breakthough into the first team are signed immediately and train, travel with the squad as it helps team bonding.

Darn right. I'm sure the FAI will find an even more fiendish way of eventually getting the league they want.

There is one club very much in the $hitter by all accounts though.

I think two of the teams he's talking about are pretty obvious.

As for the third, is it Limerick???
