Unbelievable. There's been no official proposal and he's not going to get in. From what I've heard it's pretty much guaranteed that the executive is going to tell them to get lost.

McMullen was on the 6.30 radio 1 sports news yesterday.I think they said he was in the Ireland u16 Euro winning squad in 98 so he is aYoung lad..."I love football and I love business and I love money more than both those things."

I know this will come as a shock to people, but the emperor has no clothes.

What? Roddy's mates aren't all they set themselves out to be? Some mistake surely?.

anyone listen to him on off the ball last night?he was chatting away about the longford job and the good reception he got down in longford the last few days, it took daniel mcdonnell to remind him that longford have only just appointed a new manager...the way collins was talking youd swear he had taken the job

I dont care what it was but please let this be true. Roddy not involved in the league AND not on MNS, we'd never be so lucky would we?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

McMullen on Friday Sportsnight on RTE Radio 1 now - recorded earlier in the week.

    Talked Roddy up bigtime.

Yeah seemed very fond of Roddy alright. I got the impression that he thought he owned the club already, and that he wouldn't have any trouble in buying us.

Roddy announced on RTE at halftime in Dalyer that after talking to his wife and family, they decided to pull out of Longford deal because of negative reaction from fans.

They are now looking at another club.

ironic that he thought he could just take a club.

fair play longfordian members club, proved that saviour may not be the best thing ever but its better than having Rod.

It would've been so harsh on our new management team if they'd been shafted. They've got a real buzz going now around the place. Two good results so far and a young, enthusiastic squad. Plus as I repeat ad nauseum these McMullen guys were offering nothing.

If that's the case then he'll porbably never manage again. What fans would actually want him to be their manager?

Shoddy on Gretna, his media superstardom, and the last time he convinced someone to buy him a club:

The amount of crap that comes out of that man's mouth is incredible. They no more spent four days in talks with us. They were in Longford for one day and ended up that they "couldn't commit to anything in writing". I love the bit where he says "I was very successful at Bohemians. Then I went to Carlisle."
