    Other Stadiums

As we're moving into a new ground. All credit to everyone involved.

What stadiums/grounds have fans seen LoI football, which are not now regular grounds? And have they seen non-football or non-LoI events at regular LoI grounds?

For me Belfield Park, Buckley Park, Whitehall, RDS, Kilcohan Park, Iveagh grounds (st, James's Gate), Harold's Cross (Pat's and Shels) John Hyland Park (St. Francis),Abbeycarton, St. Mel's Park.

Seen Cork City at Musgrave Park (UEFA cup) and the UCD21's at Bishopstown long after City moved back to Turner's Cross. Thanks for organising that one, I was never in Bishopstown previously.

Our first Premier Division game in 1995 (start of the 9 year Premier League run) was in the 'Rugby Grounds' in Galway, against Galway Utd. Their defender Rodgers scored a last minute og equaliser thank god.

Havn't yet got to Wexford Yths (name of ground?), Lissywollen, Croker or the Belfield Bowl.

Besides the odd International/representative game at different grounds I can only think of Horse jumping at the RDS as other events at a ground. Athletics at the Billy Morton Stadium.

You have travelled far, and seen a great deal.

I've been in Whitehall, the RDS, some Limerick ground and Milltown (there wasn't a stadium there at the time though).
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

I was in my old parish in Dublin for the weekend and took a trip down to see the Belfield Bowl. Cripes but a lot of facilities have gone in since I used to go and watch UCD in their first few seasons in the league. Then, you could wander in the Foster's Avenue gate, cross a pitch and just walk in to the pitch in, what was originally, a walled garden.

I could only see through the fencing but the pitch looked good and a tidy stand. What's the athmosphere like on matchday? Does everyone stay around the stand area?

Yeah, it's a big difference to what Belfield Park was like back in the day. Atmosphere is pretty much as before (albeit after one game). There's standing around the way as in Belfield Park, but everyone stayed in the stand for the Derry game. Made it a bit better to have all the UCD fans together instead of strewn around the stand.

Perhaps we'll get a taster in a cup game. It would have to be a 1st round tie though

Went to watch Athlone v. Dundalk last night. Impressed with the large stand with the cantilevered roof at Lissywollen. And there appears to be a generous amount of space on the opposite side and the town end for further accomodation. Both supporters groups were in good voice too.
