When it comes to official attendance figures in the English league they count season ticket holders whether they turn up or not. I dont know whether it is right or wrong to do that (and whats more I dont care) just sayin is all!

It was at least that. I'd say we had less than 100 spare seats (considering the "singing" section was overcrowded). 2,700 would be my guess

And no way should season ticket holders who don't attend be counted. Makes a mockery of any figures that have counted them IMO

There wasn’t much of a crowd at the derby match last night between Bohs and Rovers. 3000??

I would have thought this being a ‘big’ derby you would have got at the very least double that amount. Also thought the atmosphere was pretty low key as well.

These two teams should be able to attract a crowd of 8 or 10k to a derby match

Nearer 4,000 I'd have thought watching it on TV (2,000+ Bohs, didn't see the Rovers crowd properly but I presume at least 1,500). A Tuesday night and awful weather probably lowered it a bit but you just don't get Belfast derby size crowds in the EL.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

    4,500 I would have guessed.

I thought the Rovers crowd was smaller than what they normally bring, not having a dig, it's understandable considering the weather, tv coverage and their league position. I'd say there was about 2500 in the Jodi and 1000 in the Connaught street. Disappointing crowd really as was said above.

I would have thought 4000. As well as the weather and TV, it was the first of three games in five days if you count the friendly this Saturday.
While we are here, they'll never die.

I think 3,000 is about right - the Jodi was full down the F/G end, so i went up to C where there were a fair few seats and A and B were half empty - so say 2,500 in the Jodi. Being up that end I could see the Rovers fans in their full pomp, and I wouldn't say there was more than 500. As to why we don't get more; a few reasons - there was 4,700 (i think) at the first derby of the season in Tolka in similarly bad weather - we seem to bring more to the away fixture these days. At that point of the season, Row-fuss were still looking like they might do something - at this point mid- table mediocrity again is all they have to look forward to, Scully is not popular, and their home crowds have been falling. Add to that the fact that in July/ August a fair proportion of fans are likely to be on holidays, and add to that the fact that it was a Tuesday and therefore getting ****ed afterwards to celebrate was probably out of the question for a lot of people, and you're some of the way to the answer. And add to that the fact that 95% of fans have no appetite for teenage dirtbags throwing shapes outside before and after....

If a Bohs/ Rovers game is ever important again in terms of the destination of the trophy for BOTH sides then you'll see real crowds.

What did you think of the football, Steve?

I think Bohemians are pretty comfortable on the ball and knock the ball about well, Shamrock Rovers though seem to be more route one. I’d say the game was entertaining especially for a derby game. Your man Fenn I think was the outstanding player of the night, played very well and on that performance could play at a higher level.

I would certainly like Linfield to entertain Bohemians in the CL next season, I think it would be a fantastic match which could go either way as I don’t think there is much difference in standard.
