124 UCD students availed of the free entry offer. Hard to say how many of those were Drogs but it's 5-10 times larger than the amount that took up a similar offer for the Sligo game. I'm noticing a lot more new people in UCD gear than I did in Belfield Park, I don't know if it's just the well lit open layout of the Bowl or the change in location has resulted in more fans for us but I'd be confident we have at least 250 people coming to our games to support us. That's nothing to boast about but it exceeds many people's estimations on here.

Simple we live within our means. Gates aren't the only source of income. Surely you would have learned this by now?, no?. County also have sponsorship and there is a five month draw in the close season. Pretty ridiculous question.

about 1,300 at Ramblers v Sham Rovers i recon, didn't hear any official announcement.......
About 150 Rovers i'd say...........All perfectly well behaved at the match, plenty of flags and great noise from them too.............
Credit when it is due, they get enough stick when they do anything wrong and I know a lot of people didn't go because they wouldn't bring their kids to the game but all was well.............

Not a ridiculous question at all in fairness Steno.

Football is all about the crowds. A club may have sponsors and the like now, but if it's only attracting crowds of about 130 to home games then there won't be much in it commercially for those sponsors - meaning it borders onto charity donations. And that make it vulnerable to the chop at any future point.

I'm not having a go - none of our clubs have great crowds, and it is a credit to County that they can live within such limited means. But you can't blame people for wondering how a senior club can get by on such low attendances. Or how long it can continue to do so (e.g. Kilkenny City).

You think there were 350+ Drogheda fans there?

Not a pup's chance, as you say.

I would have thought there was. And before you start calling me "wrong" maybe you should read your own post again:

You can think all you want, and I won't call you wrong on this. But I'd be very surprised if it were the case.

There were, for example, 525 against Sligo, with about 100 visiting fans and so 400 home fans. Ditto against Derry - 622 with about 200 away fans. But you reckon, even with a promotion which was taken up by over 100 students, that there were 100 less home fans than the previous two games? Doesn't make sense.

I also saw enough of the stand to know that the near two blocks were almost all UCD, would be 350/400 (each block holds 375-ish).
