I was there. Blocks B, C, D & E were full, block A with the away fans only had around 60-70. Noticeable last night at the RSC was payment of cash only at the turnstiles, no clickers and no tickets at all being used. Many season ticket and concession holders there as well last night. Not bad given the opposition.

900 was the 'offical' announcment at the Ramblers V Galway game last night. There seemed to be 1,200-1,300 there. I recon the rain previous to the game put a lot of people off. I was expecting a lot more. Pity for the first home game of the sesaon. Hopefully when we get a full house against Cork in two weeks time there will be a good display of football that will encourage more back!

    Rovers/Drogs

About 2,500 seemed to be the agreed figure.

    From extratime.ie:
With characteristic flair, Fingal have arranged a fleet of special buses from the club's North County heartland to its somewhat remote domicile at Morton Stadium, Santry for today's fixture.
Can any Sporting fans let us know how many availed of this?

According to radio there's a "sprinkling" of fans in Morton.

Maybe the commentator was counting the people at the game out loudly. 1, 2, 3, 4.

The average Div Two crowd in England this season is 7855, so it'd be an average crowd at best. I think people continually underestimate just how big the likes of the English Div Two and Div Three are. Still an excellent crowd obviously.

Will be interesting what Fingal's next crowd is when people have to pay in. Wexford started off with 2200 and dropped as low as 250 come the season's end. Still, if they get an average of 500, it'd be decent.

How much is that in Euro??

I take it was a one-off opening day promotion to launch the club in the league. Have season tickets been sold??

Shame on RTE for not being at the Brandywell on Friday night! It would have been a great advert for the league! About 7 thousand souls most of which including myself standing in the rain. Both sets of fans mingling freely on the terraces were a credit to their clubs. Made me proud of the North West.

First time at the Brandywell on Friday night. Over five hour roundtrip drive for me but well worth it. Real proper atmosphere standing in the rain and no hint of trouble. Fair play to the Harps fans who travelled in big numbers, How many? Made most of Sligo V Drogheada last night. Good crowd there as well; 2200-2500 my estimate. This shows how stupid reducing the prem to 10 teams is, by having a Dublin and district league play in mostly empty grounds. The memories of the Brandywell will last for a while.

Take out Bradford City (13,500) and MK Dons (spits on ground - 8,500) and the rest of the league has an average attendance much closer to 4,500-5,500. Bradford's attendances in particular give the average a big lift.

Though agree that our crowd averages are along the lines of upper Blue Square Premier/Lower 2nd Division.

Not a chance there was 1200 plus in at the game. I was there myself and at max there was between 700/800
