Per capita, Cobh are probably the best supported club in the league. Approx 5% of the population of the town attended the Derry City match (Cobh and environs = 13,000, as per Wikipedia).
The attendance figures of clubs like Sligo, Cobh, Longford etc, are quite decent, when you consider their relatively small catchment area.
In contrast, approx 1% of the population of Galway City go to United home matches this season, and 0.5% of the population of Galway County. Cities/counties like Limerick and Waterford also have very low percentage levels of support for their teams.
from readin todays longford leader we had a shockin crowd of 250 people on sat nite..
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
435 was the figure mentioned in match report in yesterdays Munster Express. I wasn't there and don't know if it includes season tickets holders or not.
Delayed update again; new house and haven't gotten internet yet cos I know I'll just use it... I may have missed one or two figures from here; point them out to me if I have. Clubs who give official figures are in bold.
