We've got Drogs away next week, then after that Rovers and Cobh home in consecutive weeks. Those two games could either give us the push we need and get a bit of confidence or put us in the shít with Bohs and Pats following them.

    Bump.

Last weekend was a big one for us. We've been crap of late but we finally won and all the four below us lost. We are now 11 points clear of the bottom group. With over half the season gone, I can only see it being three from four.

    As it stands:

    UCD Pld. 20 Pts. 14 GD -13
    Harps Pld. 19 Pts. 14 GD -21
    Galway Pld. 20 Pts. 11 GD -19
    Cobh Pld. 19 Pts. 11 GD -21

Harps play Galway and Cobh at home over the next few weeks and Galway play UCD at home soon too.

UCD seem to be really struggling of late. When was their last win?

Harps are my guess to stay up. When they lose, they lose heavily but I think they can beat the bottom half teams. Galway and Cobh will be big for them.

Galway are hard to pin down. They've lost a lot of their squad but they can get points, they just need to win at home. The UCD match will be one they should aim to win.

Cobh seem to be putting up a fight but they've lost a lot of late goals recently and their spirit could be broken after Saturday's match, if reports are to be believed.

Yes bray broke the spell over them. 'Beating teams below them stay out of trouble'. I'd say it was a tough win aswel.

UCD last won in the League against Finn Harps, game 14. Our middle eleven matches were the games to suit us best and get us away from bother, bfore falling back in with some tough games late on. The points against our rivals havn't materialised. So if we are going to do it and survive, we will have to produce some 'against the grain' results.

For those of you interested PP have prices on relegation AND team to avoid relegation (obviously better odds!)

Cobh 1/7 go down, 4/1 stay up
Galway 2/9 go down, 11/4 stay up
UCD 2/7 go down, 9/4 stay up
Harps 4/11 go down, 15/8 stay up
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

The four way relegation battle remains remarkably tight after Cobh's win last night. Any of the four sides could easily finish in any of the four positions. Harps v UCD next week may give a slightly clearer picture of both team's destinies.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
