Lost 1-0, Gavin Whelan scored with 5 minutes to go, a poor shot that our keeper should have saved.

We did ok in the first half, 2nd half was a lower standard. Think we might be lacking a goalscorer though.

    match report just posted.

thought it was a better performance than the week before. neil gallagher let in an awful clanger for their goal and brays net minder nearly did a bubu near the end..

thought a draw would have being fair. thought gareth corcoran had a pretty decent first half for us.. good to see stepehen brennan play... evan connolly who came on played with the under 21s and is from claremorris. darren mckenna played with shels last season.Dean Massey I would know nothing about yet.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Was that ye Sligo boys abusing poor oul Clive? I know nobody else would. I thought it was quite an encouraging display, they're a very young bunch and they try to play it the right way. They held their own and there were a few good displays, it's hard to keep up the momentum when there were so many changes. The next two games will be more of an indicator of how the squad is shaping up, there won't be near as many lads used. I agree that we may be in need of a finisher though. Good to see a nice smattering of locals too such as Andy Bermingham and Stephen Brennan, David Maher who came on also is living in Longford. A few more lads were signed tonight too including Dean Barrett. I'm sure the website will have details.

No that was Section O. Deecay let off a tiny smoke bomb which was bought in a joke shop. The steward didn't see the funny side

Ah dont mind him ye can't abandon us now, especially as we're not a threat this year . I could pick out a few of the Section O rapscallions' voices from the other side of the field. RonnieB yours was particularly coherent at one point late on, can't remember who you were shouting at but they were getting both barrells!.
