Great move for him!
Looks like Staunton brought him in there, good move for Leeds.....

Mods, maybe merge this with the O'Halloran to Southampton thread and take Southampton out of the title....
Great move for him!

Disappointed actually, would have preferred to see him at a higher level.
but sure at least he has a world-class coaching team to learn from!
"Well I think they'll be a little disappointed with that" - Matt Holland on TV3 after 5-2 drubbing by Cyprus
Hope he gets to play this time but otherwise he'll learn alot from Stan and Gary McAllister - good coaches.
as a leeds fan i'm delighted maybe miller might go there as well on loan
I have a head only Snow White would love
You've obviously not seen much of the 'quality' in Division 3 this season, or Leeds, for that matter! The EL is almost a higher standard, albeit with miniscule crowds in comparison.
If Leeds od make it up, given all their other circumstances, it will be some sort of relative miracle.
O'Neill isn't sending him out in order to get rid of him. He rates O'Halloran and wants him around for next season when Villa will only have Freddie Bouma at left back and Craig Gardner at right back.
He scored for the Villa stiffs against Reading on Monday night too, by the way.
Did Stan give him an Irish cap?
Ya in America.
San Marino are going to be a handful as the group goes on." - Steve Staunton reacts to performance against San Marino.
That was when all the youngsters played, who did he play against?

First team football is important for him, his loan at Southampton was a waste of time since Burley left and the new management team obviously wanted to stick with the established players.
O'Neill complained earlier in the season that he hadn't gotten any first team experience this season, and with Staunton (who gave him his senior international debut) part of the new management team at Leeds, he should come back to Villa in a month with some first team experience under his belt. As the season comes to a close, and a injuries and suspensions take their toll on the first team squad, it'll put him ahead in the queue for a spot in the matchday XVI.
Next season, with Mellberg apparently moving to Juventus, I'd expect Laursen to move to centre half and the left full berth will be available.

Does anyone know if Alan Sheehan is getting his game for Leeds, moved on loan from Leicester earlier in the season? He played left back and left wing for Leicester, be in competition with O'Halloran.
Laursen and Davis are playing in the centre for Villa with Mellberg and Bouma as the fullbacks. Gardner also fills in for Mellberg from time to time. Mellberg has signed for Juve on a free for the summer.
It's only a month's loan. He could very well get some game time before the end of the season.
Sorry! I meant to say that he could very well get game time with Villa before the end of the season.
