Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the AWAY team that changes their kit if it clashes? Pats have been wearing red and white for years, if we had brought last season's black kit it would've been fine. Although to be honest, I thought the delay was because there were so many queing to get their tickets at 7.45, including me!

Regarding the game, I didn't think we played too bad CONSIDERING it was quite a makeshift defence. Some of the goals were right howlers. I think having Peers back will make a difference. I'd like to see our centre backs be more composed on the ball and play it out, like O'Cearuill is for Pats. Murphy wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 110%, which I like. Moore should become more influential, and his passing qualities were evident - I was disappointed to see him taken off when we were chasing the game as I think he would've steadied the ship a bit. Boco has skill but needs a more defined role. Left side of the team didn't do much, as others have said. We could've done with a more nippy forward that could run behind the defence last night, Faz isn't that type of player.

We have to remember that we have a tough start to the league - even the Pats fans that I walked to the game with were offering their sympathies for that!

A huge dissapointment, but at half time I feared the worst. We played too deep, didn't put enough pressure on pats and when we got the ball we gave it back to them by hoofing it clear, which just brought even more pressure on ourselves. Jennings is a good shot stopper and made a few great saves but he looks very shaky under the high ball. I didn't think mauro was too bad. We were always going to struggle without peers imo,he holds our defence together. The thing is pats scored their goals due to 3 defensive errors and thats why its so frustrating. We really need to get a few points against drogs and bohs but with coleman, peers and hopefully brush back I think we can.

Jennings really is a huge liability(fixing at the toilet roll on his goal as Pat's attacked for the 1st goal), which we already knew. At least Cookie now knows this too and Brush is starting on Saturday. 4-5-1 formation wasn't working, you could see that clearly but Cook never changed it, which I am a bit surprised about. As someone said, I know Faz was on his own up front but he didn't really try and chase the ball down when the Pat's defence were passing it about, he really should have been in putting the pressure on them. Hopefully Cook will have learned from last night and it won't happen again.

I have to agree with Dodge, Pats have been very consistant with their colours for as long as I can remember and that's a while. Truthfully, I did envisage a problem yesterday when I hear we'd be playing in white. Pats have always had white sleeves therefore a problem. Surprised our kit supplier didn't remember this as he had a spell in the Pats colours. The real winner last night was Paddy Power whom will get 'EXTRA' coverage next Monday night on TV. Thought we looked good in their gear though. I thought it funny that Anto Murphy's first competitive game for us was played in Pat's colours.
Colours aside overall I thought we did fairly well. Leaving Inchicore a disappointed man was something I wasn't expecting as I drove up there. Truthfully I thought we'd be tanked. Pats are a decent side and will be there or thereabouts at the end of this long campaign. Going forward and running at the Pats defence made them look very vunerable. They didn't feel comfortable one little bit. When we went one up we dropped off and I got the feeling it was a case of job done now lets relax. We simply weren't strong enough defencably to let them come at us and this was where we went wrong. The closing stages of the first half the writing was on the wall for us and I knew it would be a long second half and it was.
Jennings fair play to him kept us in it prior to the break with a couple of brilliant stops unfortunately his indecision cost us for two of their goals. From a Pats point of view they were three fine goals and very well taken. We showed we can play football but it won't be like that every week as the Showgrounds Field will murder us and it's all good and well saying the opposition won't play either but we have to us the field every second game which is a punishment we could do without.
As a couple of members to this board has already said it's early days yet so we'll hold our heads up ald plod along. We have a couple of tough ones now coming up but hey we'll be a better team when we get through them. Oh and well done to the travelling support last night, as always you made the club proud. Also well done to Pats, always have had a great time for the Inchicore Reds as this was where I made my debut as a travelling Bit O Red and I always love going back there, a friendlier club there's not in the Eircom League.

Maybe if you're a board member in a private section?

Lots of annoying kids running about outside and fighting with each other where the actual fans were standing.

oh well the season has started and thought at one point we'd sneak at least a point out of Richmond. A superb lesson in self implosion - are keepers who can come from crosses and dominate their area so rare than we cant find one - our keepers recently have all been good shot stoppers but cant remember the last time we had an all round strong keeper. Two poor decisions from Jennings cost us last night, along with an embarassing mistake from Murphy. We looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights for long periods of the game - just watching st pats knock it about as we defended from a far far too deep position.

I thought Doherty was hugely disapointing and showed no interest in the game at all. Had high hopes for him but if you show no appetite for getting stuck in then all the ability in the world will do you no good. Moore doesnt look to have the legs - midfield was very dissapointing and all over the place. Would prob play Boco up front after last night or just behind attack- technically brilliant player but we'd need someone better than O'Grady in midfield to do the donkey work to cover for Boco. Raf looked good and did all he could - not many players can say that on their performance. But we'll move on, and hopefully learn from last night - We need to go at Droghs next week and up the work rate. We have good players but they prob just need time to click along with their fitness improving.

The kit colllision was a farce and made rovers look less than amateur. Was said during the week to bring the 3 kits but whoever was in charge of kits decided a 3rd wasnt needed. We can say all we want about a white kit but it's the refs perogative to decide whether colours clash.

    Roll on next week !!

drop jennings now before he costs us anymore games! thought doherty was woeful. raf, jamie and conor were good but pretty average from everyone else. no point in been too critical though cos our 2 best players were suspended and we didn't have a proper pre-season. hopefully we can get 2 points from next 2 games and take it from there

Have you been in Inchicore before?, between Pats fans throwing bottles, having our flags stolen and being threatened outside the ground. Always hated going there, and definetly wouldnt call it near to friendly!

Apologies but I don't know what was going on outside as I was inside watching the game.
If there were any board members in my vicinity they were holding flags.

Leave the children be? Why, what did I do? Bottles were thrown, flag stolen, little kids beating each other outside...yet you felt very welcome

Try going to Flancare Park if you want hospitality

Why you so concerned what went on outside?
Do you blame the good folk of Inchicore for what goes on outside their stadium.

Why shouldn't I be concerned as to what goes on outside when I have to stand out there for nearly an hour before the gates opened? Gates didn't open til around 19:15/19:20 when game was due to k/o at 19:45 which was ridiculous, and yes I do blame Pat's for letting the kids run around with the stewards just standing around.
