Athlone had about 2 chances on goal all night
1 was a one on one with Harrington and he tip it over the bar and the
2 was a goal one of your players took it around our keeper and scored but it was offside
Ramblers dominated most of the game
And Jackson sent off!!!!
Obviously the break did nobody any good at ATFC.
When did we last score a goal??????????
Looking forward to the report on this one.![]()

Cobh Ramblers continued their winning run by comfortably beating Athlone Town 2-0 at St Colman's Park.
After a slow start, it was the home side who took control of the game with Willie Bruton going close with a snap shot in the 23rd minute before eventually breaking the deadlock just before half time when Bruton slotted home a penalty after Des Hope had fouled Jonathan Coker.
Athlone's Shane Jackson was sent off for a clumsy challenge early in the second half and with a numerical advantage, Cobh pushed on for victory. Corker slotted home six minutes from time after a wonderful pass by Anthony Wolfe had put him clean through on goal.

Is Eric Molloy still injured??
Assuming not then the following team would make a big difference.
Connaughton, O'Brien, Kelly, Hope, Shine, Harney, Molloy, Holt, Reilly, Mullin, Gavin,
Subs: Rushe, Jackson, Collins, McCann, Moran.
athlone looked fairly poor, as they did when i saw them at limerick. they had a few chances against the run of play in the first half but once ramblers scored, they never looked like getting anything out of the game. A lot of nasty challenges from athlone players too
