This is the point. It was late, forceful, with studs showing. It made full contact with the opponent. That should be a red card.
The fact that the opponent broke his leg shouldn't really be relevant in terms of what card, if any, should be given, as players can have legs broken through perfectly fair tackles. It certainly doesn't help the offender's case though.
comparing it to other similar injuries (Busst, Nilis) its hard to see him recovering from that.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
Yeah Gallas is the guy that they should be really having a go at. Anybody can make a mistake and Terrible defending by Clichy but Gallas is meant to be the captain.

Wenger says Taylor should never play football again.

"The tackle was horrendous and this guy should never play football again," Wenger told BBC Sport.
jesus that's bad as Juninho's when he was at Atletico
How the hell can Wenger say that Taylor doesn't deserve to play football again???? Sure it was a bad tackle. But I seem recall some of his players jumping into challenges last week at Old Trafford anything could have happened.
I honestly believe that when you play sport these things can happen... He miss timed a challenge and poor Eduardo came off the worst.
At least Eduardo will be get A1 treatment and will hopefully play again.... Not like the run of the mill pro in league 2 who will walk around with a limp for the rest of his life. Not to mention losing his livelyhood....
My point being that when you play the game things like this can happen. I also feel sorry for Taylor he didn't carry on like Neil Ruddock the time he broke Andy Coles legs anyway....

Barca 2 vs manchester 0
To Taylor's credit, he did look shocked, and accepted his punishment quietly

Let's remember Binya got a 6 match ban for his tackle on Scott Brown.
In Portuguese football, a player can be banned for as long as the player he injured remains injured.
Taylor will get a 3 match ban, and that will probably be it. I'd be surprised if a longer ban is given to him.
The law has to come down hard on these lunging tackles. There is no place in the game for a tackle where studs are showing and the foot is high off the ground.

In fairness, there's tackles like that every week.

Lads Wenger was always going to be angry and say something over the top about that tackle, but anyone trying to pass this off as something that just happens is bringing their anti-Arsenal bias into this. Taylor put in a dangerous tackle, has possibly shortened Eduardo's career, and should be banned for 3-5 matches. If an opposing player did that to one of your team's players you would all be up in arms about it as well
