    Rovers through

Rovers 1-0 Odra. First time an Irish club has won both legs of a European game in 21 years - since Rovers against Fram Reykjavik in 1982.

According to Ceefax (who have a proper report up, as opposed to the wasters at Aertel), Rovers dominated and could have won by more. Both the Grants came close before Judas Fitzpatrick (I'd love to know what Rovers have done to him 'cos he was useless when we had him!) scored on 66. Odra's best chance was a deflected free which clipped the bar in the first half.

Rovers now play Slovan Liberec next weekend and the one after. Not sure if they're home or away first leg?

This has to remove any of the doubts about the away leg being a fluke. Rovers, a part-time team by and large, have comfortably beaten a team from the 17th best league in the UEFA rankings. I reckon the Czechs will be a step too far, but you never know...

Well done to the Scum anyway!

Fair play to them anyway. Hopefully they'll give the Czechs a stuffing too.

Well done to rovers - you did your club, the LoI and Irish football proud.

    Great day out too.

I think Rovers were the last team to win both legs of a european tie. I don't think dundalk have ever done it but Dundalk are the only club to have won through 2 rounds in Europe in 1979 beating Linfield & Hibs and losing 3-2 to Celtic when Tommy McConville was a whisker away from winning it late on.

Rovers were confortable winners yesterday. They started a bit shakey but after the first 20mins settled & had numerous chances on the break.

Odra ran out of steam in the 2nd half with last chance a freekick onto the bar with Barry Ryan stranded.

Palmer at the back & Tony Grant up front were impressive. Fitzpatrick did well as over used target man also.

I think the inter toto cup may possibly mess up Rovers eL season with so many games to rearrange later in the year...
