Like I've said in the past, I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time at all and people might not like some of my views. I'm too controversial a person and call things like I see them. I'm a stickler for policy and transparency. The current Chairman and committee are doing a spiffing job and with the odd addition will see the club through no bother. Anyway, one doesn't have to be on the committee to give input and help out, but to answer your quote above:

Would I like to do it? Yes
Can I dedicate the time? No
Why not? Family comes first.
