I thought he was very quiet in the first half but began imposing himself in the second. He picks up awkward positions between the opposition's midfield and defence, so he tends to make space. With Zaha frequently occupying two men as well, I can see why Murray has found himself so often among the goals this season, as defenders would be getting dragged all over the place. Watford looked a shadow of the team that had been described as the most fluid and attacking in the division.

Had a good look through the Palace forums today. The vast majority were very positive about his 2 yr extension. He finished the season strongly and some reckon the premiership may well suit him better (cited the less frantic pace in comparison to the Championship). His lack of pace and inconsistency continue to be his main weaknesses. Furthermore, he had a bad knee injury this year which is concerning. Hopefully, with a good pre-season behind him, Owen will play a big part in Palace's year next season.
I wonder has Trap ever heard of him?
Always look on the bright side of life
Seeing as how he played him in the B game against Nottingham Forest, he probably has, yeah
Indeed he was, against Colombia. Was in Trap's first Irish squad, back in the day. http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/inter...31786-ireland/
Starts for Palace against Spurs today.
Call him up Trap!
Delaney also starts the game.
Is Paddy McCarthy injured?
McCarthy's been injured for over a year now. Some muscle injury that won't clear up.
Just read the match preview on BBC and it says he's " back in training but is not yet fit". Is he expected to make a return to action soon?
It seems he has fully recovered but he picked up a minor strain during the week.
edit: interesting that Garvan starts ahead of the hotly-tipped Jonathan Williams, who was playing for Wales on Wednesday night. Also great to see him finally make the step up to the Premier League after all the high hopes we had for him.

Garvan was replaced by Chamakh on 66 minutes.
Thought he did really well today, Garvan. Palace were playing pre historic football in the opening 20 minutes, but Garvan put his foot on the ball and made things happen. He really has a presence in midfield, albeit not the paciest player. But he looks extremely intelligent on the ball and turned the tide back towards the Spurs goal any time he got the ball. Got a real vote of confidence from both Peter Drury and Clive Allen on the broadcast I was watching.
I missed the start of the second half until he was substituted but he was quietly effective in the first half. Tottenham were a mess once Holloway changed the team's shape - they didn't look like they knew how to adapt their defensive system. Delaney did very well overall and could even have had a goal or two were it not for good blocks.
Have to say it was the first time, great seeing him in the Prem given how long he's been mooted.
Impressed with his comfort on the ball, and how much he demanded it. He is exceptionally slow though and was defensively caught out a couple of time when covering over at the far side in the first half (once in particularly let a through ball in for Lennon). But decent enough, hope he can keep his place.
Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
Just hummed a ding deep into stoppage time for Crystal Palace but it's still too late as Bristol City prevail.
Cracker of a goal too. Seen it on sky sports news there.
