Apparently Mick Wallace (the guy behind Wex Youths) has been money forward to pay for the appointment - according to the indo today.

All the above seem to be based on the Examiner's story.

Mick Wallace is rumoured to have offered money to help the appointment process but this money was supposedly offered before Trap's name came into the reckoning.

Maybe soccerc might be able to offer some sort of confirmation???

I really hope this is the case - the Reuters reports seem to emmanate from the Examiner article.

Fingers, toes and other extremities crossed...
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

With the exception of The indo, all sources above say "according to the Examiner....", so really, thats one source, 8 times & the Indo.

Edit : The Indo's source is apparently the Examiner too, so thats one source 9 times.

On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"

    And they nearly did.

    Looking good though...looking f*cking good!

BTW, pardon my football ignorance, and please laugh in your sleeves, but WTF is this Billy Davies I keep hearing about?

Only seeing an incomplete thread title on the index page I thought this was going to be one of those speculative threads where the title is a statement followed by a question mark of which that some of the aspiring Herald editors on here have become fond. I was then going to ask for you to be banned.

    Hope you're right.

Please let this be true. It's going to be tough waiting until Wednesday. But still preparing myself for a shock (its the FAI after all).

Not until we have the traditional post signing "Holding Irish Scarf Over Head" photograph will it be official.

YES! Please let this be true. It'd almost make that ridiculous manager search seem worth it.

Hopefully confirmation will come soon and we won't have to wait until Wednesday.

Trapattoni would be a good appointment for Ireland and with a solid nucleus of experience in the squad to build on, progress will happen.
