I have to say that Im feeling rather excited in my pants
Who is this guy, Trapper Tony?
anyone think it was absolute class on his part by announcing his arrival before the muppets held their press conference - talk about letting them know who's boss
over the moon with this appointment - and not a cloud in the sky to spoil the view
I have a head only Snow White would love

By far the most qualified and succesful manager ever to take the reigns of the national team.
Here's hoping this appointment sets the standard required for future managers too.

Georgia play Northern Ireland in a friendly at Windsor Park on March 26 and Trapattoni's native country, Italy are being lined up as the opposition in August, a month before the World Cup qualifying campaign gets under way.
Trapattoni may even make an appearance at Windsor Park himself next month with the Republic not on international duty that night
Can't believe this is really happening...just saw him on SSN holding Ireland scarf aloft...GET IN THERE!!!!![]()
Excellent appointment by far the best manager we could have got, still feel a bit sick though had a wad of cash on venables to be the next boss after i heard a vicious rumour he was a cert for the job![]()
As delighted as I am with this appointment, we haven't achieved anything yet. Let the guy get on with the job and see how he goes. I believe however that if we don't get at least play off then the problem lies else where in the Irish set up, not at management level.
Time wasters needn't apply: What I like most about the calibre of manager we now have is it shows we will no longer tolerate second rate managers looking for a pension or stepping stone to bigger and better thigs.
And it also shows the folly of picking Derby over Ireland Mr. Jewell!!!
So failte agus adh mor ort Giovanni.

What do we talk about now?
So who's organising our Irish fans weekend away to Austria to support Trap and our new favourite team Red Bull Salzburg?![]()
"Well I think they'll be a little disappointed with that" - Matt Holland on TV3 after 5-2 drubbing by Cyprus
Great news, over the moon, hope Trapers can bring back the good times![]()
"when the seagulls follow the trawler,
it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea" Ooh Ahh
Just seen his interview on Sky, not bad English at all, amazing how much rubbish is reported.
Former Italy defender Claudio Gentile was also expected to be part of the backroom staff.
But the 54-year-old, who played alongside Brady under Trapattoni, and was Italy Under-21 boss during his mentor's reign as national coach, has declined the offer.
feck!
Forza Irlande..great news..bit offputting reading some people on here getting a semi......maybe I am excited in a diferent way to them
Que Sera Sera
