About 10 years ago, I was on some very strong painkillers, for a reason I can't remember. As it was a Saturday night, I went out and didn't drink any alcohol.
It was the worst night out I've ever had, not including one recent night I described in the "drunken stories" thread. I was filled with disgust at the pathetic behaviour of all my friends, who laughed at things that weren't even remotely funny. I was torn between wondering why I was friendly with these idiots and knowledge of the fact that if I had been drunk, I'd have enjoyed the night just as much as they did. It was, if you'll pardon the expression, a sobering experience.
I'm aware that this story says something about my relationship with alcohol, but I'd rather not think too much about it.
