Would've thought a good bit more than 5000. Shed looked fairly full, couldn't tell about the far end of the Stand but assume it was full; Derrynane stand was about 3/4 full, St Anne's End half full. What's all that add up to?
5000+ CCFC V SPA 29.08.03
Ball park ... i actually think it was nearer 6000 but i'll wait for everyone elses tupence.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Revenge for 2002
Donnie Ford 1800/1900
Derrynane 950/1200
St Anned 1700/2800
Shed+Rest 1500
Total approx 6000.....
thats just my opinion though........
Read 6000 in the Irish Times too. So that probably means there were 3000 there...![]()
I'd go with:
Donnie Ford 1700/1800 (only few empty seats by Pats end)
Derrynane 1000/1100
St Anned 1500/2900
Shed+Rest 1000+
About 5500
= 5000+ home supporters![]()
Any non-Shels fan would be surprised, cause they don' t go to games, just assume the bigger than expected games are away fans making up the numbers. You can be forgiven for lowering your estimate since Tolka is such a huge fortress that alot of the seats are empty most of the time.
Cork are definately the biggest, I've seen plenty of near sell-outs there, hopefully they can build on it, I feel themselves, Waterford and Pats are in need of an extension to around 8,000 for Cork and 6,000 for Pats and waterford. Tolka needs to be reduced a bit to improve atmosphere, I've only been to one game in Dalymount this season and I was a bit dissapointed with the crowd. All in all, it's an improvement and can be built upon which means good news for the future.
And to that NI fella, merge with us and then you'd have a definate increse in crowds. Dublin-Belfast/Belfast-Cork derbies would be some spectacle, might take a few Euro spots out of Dublin for a change aswell.
