Trap was on the radio this morning saying he was impressed with Givens and would like to see a role for him. Lord help us!!
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
I
I think you should look at Jewels record and Charltons record. Not much difference really. However one is failed to you and the other isn't. Before you jump in I am talking about Charltons record pre Ireland.
In relation to Mc Carthy, he was a failed Irish manager in the lower English leagues. Kerr was a successful Irish manger at LOI and Youth Level and Staunton was never even a manager.
The bar has been raised. Of the 3 above the only one I agreed with at the time was Kerr. Mc Carthy turned out in the end to be a decent manager and Staunton was a farce.
In Trap we trust
I'd agree with all of that actually.
As the person who started the thread, I'll be big enough to say FAIr play to Givens for this appointment. A truly world class appointment and Givens had a lot to do with it.
But, I still think his handling of certain players during his time as interim boss of the senior team was wrong. His record at U21 level is atrocious and should no longer hold that post IMO. I don't think Trappatoni is going to sack the man that hired him however, and I don't think Delaney will sack him either. Maybe the best option would be to give him an upstairs job.
That's not actually the case, he was inexperienced but he'd previously qualified Millwall for the old Division one play off's and had them in and around the top of the league when he left, the went to pieces after he left that season although they'd been on a bad run from when he was linked with the Ireland job. I don't see how his record pre Ireland could be considered a failure in the lower leagues...
