Sunday, 30th November - FAI Ford Cup Final (to be confirmed)
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
The hardest possible start away to Shels but I can't wait all the same!
I know they have a lot of variables to sort out when doing the fixtures but a mid week trip to Waterford for a part time team is a bit much.Code:Series 12 - Midweek TBC Waterford United v Athlone Town RSC TBC
I don't think Waterford will be too impressed with this eitherCode:Series 21 - Midweek TBC Athlone Town v Waterford United Lissywoollen TBC
Both teams will have to leave at the latest around midday as you have to be in the ground 1 and a half hours before kick off and it is around 6 hours travel when you include traffic and pre match meals etc.
But arent the majority of First Division games on Fridays. Part-time players will be in the same situation on Fridays as they would Mid-Week. It cant be good for attendances aswell. How are the majority of fans expected to to travel to away games on Thursdays and Fridays?
For all the latest League of Ireland news visit www.extratime.ie
Agree with that but it will mean that players will be looking for possibly two days off work that week with the distance involved for the midweek match as there will be a match Friday as well
For a player that is living in Sligo or Galway it would mean leaving at 10am to get to Athlone and then the day travelling to the match and probably getting home at 4 am in the morning with a full days work to follow when they get home
My point was the better way to sort this might have been use these dates for local derbies as the crowds will still turn up and it is easier for players and supporters alike.
Away to Monaghan on the first day!
Bloody ass clowns in Abbotstown
If I were a Cobh fan (Heaven forbid) I would be purchasing some petrol aswell
The otherside of this coin is that I would expect at least three times as many Waterford fans to come to Limerick on a Friday as I would on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I'd expect a lot more home fans on a Friday too
With the new league being all about the gloss, they were never going to do anything to damage the "big" local derbies
When is the FAI Cup second round scheduled for?
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
A League teams must be entering at the 2nd round stage then, I suppose.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
League Cup Final on a Friday too - sense prevailing?
Once again the league have simply forgot that the UEFA Cup is played on Thursday and have scheduled Pats to play the day after both legs of the first prelim round. A team who does well in the league cup will now have the added hassle of having a league game postponed...

Any word on the A Championsip fixtures?
UCD - Derry City at Belfield Friday March 7th.
Last day of term in Trinity.
First day of new season.
Finally, a chance to fulfill an ambition I've had for a number of years.
Going to Belfield wearing a TCD hoodie and a Derry City scarf.
We may be defeated but I wouldn't even mind!
Are UCD playing in a new ground this year?
Robbie Hedderman. Arguably the greatest Derry City player of all time...
Yep. Belfield Bowl.
