Thumbs up Coleman commits to the Bit O'Red

    From www.sligorovers.com:

Ireland under 21 international, Seamus Coleman has committed his future to Rovers, signing an extension to his current contract that will keep him at The Showgrounds until the end of the 2009 season.
A revelation last season for the Bit O'Red, his performances secured international recognition at under 21 level. Manager, Paul Cook, was determined that Coleman would commit to the club that gave him his senior debut and the news will give fans everywhere a boost in advance of the league fixture being announced tomorrow.

What kind of time of night is that to make an anouncement?

Do Sligo not want press coverage in tomorrow's papers or something?

    Bizarre.

Doubt very much if he will be with us in August. Gone over for the biggest transfer fee in our history.

Delighted with that news, even if he does go at least he cares enough for the club to get a bigger fee!

    An absolute legend Seamie.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

100k plus add ons. But, I suppose, in relative terms the 25k we got for Ski in 1977 was bigger.

If he continues to improve at the rate he did last season then 100k will be peanuts. this is fantastic news. this season looks more and more promising by the day
