Sorry Stu but this should be kept open. Part of being an Ireland fan should be an utter contempt for this guy. I suggest we rename it Stephen Ireland - Enemy of the State and then we can hopefully chart his every misfortune.
damn. Didnt last too long.
lets try again.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Ah well, it was tongue in cheek anyway.
Knock yourselves out.

We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"
Hardly setting the world alight this season!
We've a massive game tomorrow - lets treat this person with the indifference he deserves.
Anyone who's posted on here regularly should get involved in the match debate and forget about......................who are we on about again????
Quoting years at random since 1975
Surely the poll should be asking as to whether he should be hanged, shot or guillotined?
#NeverStopNotGivingUp
Stephen Ireland is entirely predictable which is why he is so loved by the media.
If Trap, Brady and co. went begging to Stephen Ireland he'd say he's no interest in playing for Ireland.
When they say they won't do any more, the chapter is closed, Stephen Ireland will come out and say he still wants to play for Ireland.
And the whole cycle continues again, egged on by the morons in the media.

Stephen Ireland has given up of his own accord the chance to be remembered like the players that played in matches like the ones shown on the thread below
Anyone got any footage of the 77 or 81 France games to share?

Anyone read the twerp's comments in both the Times & Indo today?
I really liked DO'D's response in the Indo. You're not Roy Keane playing to Cork sensitivities so shut it. Irish Times just sat on the fence. Didn't read Eaxminer yet.
He's also the subject of the big hagiography, sorry, interview in today's Guardian sport section. If only we could post comments (in the normal Grauniad way) so that online readers could be left in no doubt as to what we think of the narcissistic ballsack. We can't, I suspect, for this very reason.

I'd go for all 3 in that order.
In fairness this is a lot to do with lazy journalism IMO. If an Ireland international is coming up and you want an article without having to do too much work then contact "dial a quote" for a story. In today's Star on the front page is the heading "Ireland won t come back if Ireland qualify, shocker". What would be the real "shocker" is if Ireland would have him back if Ireland qualify.
Neale Fenn on retiring: 'I think once you finish you might as well finish rather than making all sorts of comebacks.'
