    Well done to Fulham. That was a pretty miraculous escape. Coming into the last week I did feel they were going to stay up. They had a pretty easy match.

    I'll be sad to see Reading go. I liked some of their players and especially Steve Coppell.

    I've always detested Birmingham and, well, Derby are embarassing.

    He did well to get them out of trouble and that was his brief but the overall record isn't anything to write home about. Since Hodgson took over at the turn of the year Fulham took 21 points from 18 matches. Prior to his arrival they had 15 from 20 and were 19th. Indeed, prior to the last 5 games they had taken 9pts from 13 games and if he had started off that badly with Ireland, he wouldn't have lasted. Sad but true. Since tournaments come round just every two years the window for a manager to succeed in terms of games is much shorter.
    Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
