Yes to Bluefinger.
Intending to purchase a few new albums that have been recommended recently but thought the Music forum could act as a second opinion.
Perhaps this thread could be used as a sounding board as to whether you are about to purchase a classic or a dud.
I understand a lot of music is personal taste but some concensus can be useful.
Would you recommend the following albums?
Black Francis - Bluefinger
Grinderman - Grinderman
British Sea Power - Do you like Rock Music?

Yes to Bluefinger.
On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"
And they nearly did.
Yes to the other two. Grinderman I got and like. BSP I plan on getting, and came highly recommended on other fora.

Yea, I haven't heard BSP but a mate says they are top. They're a band i'd buy if i saw an album.
They have a massive cult following as far as I know.
Anyone heard much of The Futureheads, have their first album, they're playing in Sligo at the end of the month. They come recommended live...
Whats that comin' over the hill
It's the Monster,
The Cookie Monster!
Get Bluefinger if you like in any way Black Francis / Frank Black.
If you don't yet like him, get it and you soon will. :P
Sound folks - thanks for that. I'll get them all!!

TO TELL THE TRUTH IS REVOLUTIONARY
The ONLY foot.ie user with a type of logic named after them!
All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
Well (if remotely interested):
Got Grinderman and British Sea Power at lunchtime - Black Francis was Out of Stock . I'll pick it up again.
I got the Yeah Yeah Yeah's - "Show Your Bones" instead.
Heard a lot of their singles but Is this album any good?
Quoting years at random since 1975
Futureheads are fantastic, and even better live I'm told, though I missed a chance to see them for myself some time ago.
Second album is a more tuneful affair, the spiky, jerky, pointy guitar riffage this time dripping with harmony and melody like some over-exuberant honeycomb. A bit like that.
I most definitely would. Go.
more bass
I have only good things to say about NYPC. The album is great. Similar in ways to CSS.

excellent. I'll have to make a purchase.
Has anyone watched the Channel 6 late at night. They usually have music on, usually with the Doherty wan. In fairness the music is decent, and has picked up where No Disco left off. Check it out anyway. Very good at promoting new Irish bands.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
