Run Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html -on your laptop, it'll take a while if it's an older laptop with a load of files, but it should find the problem.

Anyway this rash has appeared.....
But seriously, my laptop picked up a pretty heavy Trojan virus during the week (Norton Security never fail to disappoint me) that has been cleaned up now. Trouble is random internet sites aren't working. For example, BBC, Foot, YouTube and Football365 all run smoothly, but Google, Hotmail and GMail don't. In the case of Google I can get onto the home page but it won't allow me to search for anything. If I put in, say, Blur's new album in the search engine the results screen doesn't appear and I'm told the page is loading, it just freezes here. I can't even open the hotmail or gmail home pages.
I've tried reseting my internet options to default, I;ve cleaned every virus off my computer (to the best of my knowledge) and I've rebooted my system but still no joy. Anyone with any suggestions?![]()

I'd second AVG - got caught there a couple of weeks ago with a very similiar trojan McAfee missed, SpyWare Doctor missed it (and that's usually reliable) so downloaded AVG and that sorted it out thankfully
Free Avast download has served me very well also.
yip, my wife changed our security to AVG a month ago and it works brilliantly.
cheers lads, I'll put Norton in the trash and go with AVG![]()
