Last LSC was 2000/01. It was dropped for the short transition season to summer soccer and never came back. Think Rovers won the last won. We won it in 80/81, 94/95 and 95/96.
Aware above Cup now ceased - wether as result of the introduction of summer season, unsure.
Collect data on Leagues and Cups in Ireland - have a full list of final details to 1994/95, unsure exactly when last Leinster Cup was played.
Can anyone state when last held and details of finals from 1994/95 to that date.
Believe Shamrock won 96/97, Bohs 97/98 & St Pats 99/2000.
Appreciate any help.

Cheers Pineapple stu.
Aware you beat Dundalk 2-1 in 94/95 final. Do you know 95/96 details ?
Seperate issue is it you delving into Collingwood Cup history ?
Who has won the most LSC?
see here- http://foot.ie/showpost.php?p=683399&postcount=6
Dundalk have been in 18 finals of the Leinster Senior Cup, winning it six times and finishing as runners-up on twelve occasions. Last appearance in the final was 94/95 and the last time they won the cup was 77/78.
I think Bohs have the most wins but can't be sure.

Think we beat Athlone on penalties in 95/96 after a 0-0 draw. Before my time though.
Nope, not looking into the Collingwood. Not sure who that is.
Edit - actually, CM 01/02 had a full honours list. Don't have that version any more, but someone here might and can read off the honours roll (winners and runners-up).
Shels have won it 18 times. Last in 93/94. All before my time though
It was a sly bit of chicanery on Bohs' part which contributed to the LSC's demise. They used a scheduled Leinster Senior Cup game in 2001 to avoid playing an inconveniently re-arranged league match and wipe out suspensions to key players. It was the debate as to whether LSC matches constituted "competitive" games which led to its being declared more trouble than it was worth and discontinued.
I think it ought to be revived; it's one of the most historic tournaments in the country and its format rendered it relatively unobtrusive. There was always a good mix of teams from all levels of the game and the latter rounds could be quite competitive. At least it actually counted for something (a provincial championship), unlike the League Cup.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
The LSC counted for nothing. Leinster champions didn't mean anything to anyone. Crowds were a fraction of League Cup games and could often not cover costs. We don't need another Cup competition. It's dead; let it stay that way.
Just a wee thanks for info posted. As stated previously have full list to 94/95, possibly 95/96 if can be confirmed UCD beat Athlone that year.
Therefore just the last 5 finals to be confirmed.
15 years or so ago it was the equal of the League Cup, and as it was the first trophy I saw Pats win I'll always have a soft spot for it. I had thought we won the last one in 2000
We won our 6 Cups in 1947/1948 (as non league team), 1982/1983, 1986/1987, 1989/1990, 1990/1991 and 1999/2000

Rovers won it in the following years:
Leinster Senior Cup
1923, 1927, 1929, 1930, 1933, 1938, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1964, 1969, 1982, 1985, 1997.
I don't know if it's entirely a good idea to have let it die, I know that the Munster variety is still going strong and the rounds where the EL clubs enter can double up as useful run outs pre-season, mind you my own team's record in it against non league teams the last few years is embarrassing
I'm surprised that the Leinster variety was stopped, they should have kept it going even if it was just LSL teams playing each other.

Does anyone care about the MSC actually? Does anyone go to games?
Wayside knocked us out in 2000/01 anyway.Originally Posted by Dodge

The tournament kept appearing for several versions after that in spite of its being defunt.
With many Leinster clubs being required to having 'A' Championship sides and the addition of Sporting Fingal it could probably make a viable tournament with a mixture of reserves and Intermediate/Junior teams.
I have my Grandfathers medal winners with Shels in 1904
