Doherty had a shocker apart from that goal though, hope that's not a sign of things to come. All our goals tonight were class, even Judge's offside one. Defence seems like a bit of a problem though.

A bit harsh coach. The players are finding their fitness and sharpness and all the new players have to settle in with their new team mates.I dont know what you thought, but i thought the pitch was very bobbly.I know its the same for everyone, but i thought all the players found it difficult at times. There is a long way to go and i think Doherty will be a success.

The pitch is bobbly alright, has been for years so it's something the players will have to get used to. Don't want to criticise Doherty too much like as I know there's a good few new players settling in but just pointing out tonight he was below the standard required really, it was only a friendly though so doesn't matter too much. I hope he turns out to be a great signing, just didn't show much tonight, apart from the cracker of a goal.

The pitch was absolute muck, it really was a disgrace. It cost Boco a goal as the ball was bobbling like mad underneath him. If that was in the league, and we were under pressure, it could matter playing on what is such a poor surface.

    Although, we are skint.

About 400 at the game. Crap first half but we were very good going forward in the second. Middle of defence a problem and Foyzer will get at least nine games as Butler will get three straight reds if he plays like tonight. Keeper very impressive and Boco looks like the business. Harps have serious defensive problems but that's none of my business.

I wasn't that impressed by Jennings. He will have to learn not hit the ball first time on the dodgy surface though.

butler dosnt pull out either i like him, hes not bad on the ball and good in a tackle, doherty imo wasnt bad, was unlucky when his effort just went over in the first half, great strike for his goal too. murphy wasnt really in the game alot but he didnt get much of the ball played to him alot of it was down the left or through the middle. he's very good in the air though. jennings didnt have alot to do really a few crosses, couldnt do anything about the goals either from what i could see. ventre was much better when he went into the middle.
we could do with another friendly against at least a first division club though, no point playing carbury imo not worth it. need to play someone better than them! will be tough to get one this late though maybe

i like what i saw last nite. these lads have to get to know each other so i would not be to critical. the pitch is a disgrace. it was very soft and bobbley. at oe sttage faz got so frustrated i heard him shout f****** this pitch i cant play on it. that was in the first half. also cookie and gerry are continully complaining about it. i know people will say it is the same for both teams but the fact that we have a footballing side seems to be against us at home. hopefully as the weather improves it might get a bit better. i thought "boco" was brilliant. he looks like he can get goals for us and create them as well. i am really looking forward to seeing him play on a good surface. i though all the new players did well and thegreat thing is that as they become familiar with each other they will improve. if we get the rub of the green we are in for a very exciting season so everybody out there spread the word about the team and get more punters in and try and get financial support for the club.

Was told last night that unowho won't let them roll the pitch in case they damage the drains underneath. I despair.

I counted 48 in section one of the stand just before kick off. As the yanks say, do the math.

Pat Jennings- didn't have the best of games but he could impovewith time.

Chris Butler- looked decent enough but abit too hard into a few tackles.

Anto Murphy- didn't get much of the ball and looked abit slow but i think he will be good this season.

Alan Moore- did fcuk all that i noticed but i think he picked up a knock.

Mouro Almeida- looked like a good solid no-nonsense defender.

Sean Doherty- didn't have the best of games but its clear he has potential. took his goal well.

Romauld Boco- this is a player with class. he showd great ability and intelligence. the way he dropped off, held the ball up and brought players into the game was brilliant. he wasnt afraid to run at the defence either. hes one to watch.

Ross McLoughlin- linked up well with seamie but i think Clancy got in his way abit.

I think seamie is going to be even better this season. He looked good going forward against harps and with a years experience under his belt he could start to attract some attention from good clubs in england. Thanks be to god he signed a new contract!
    Peers was very good too.

Doherty i wasn't impressed with. Granted it was his first game, but he'll need to perform better than that IMO to stay...

    Boco is a class act.

Thought boco was outstanding, really looking forward to seeing him in the season ahead.on that showing id say he's as good as any player in the league!have to agree with sligoman and RW rover i thought doherty was very poor apart from his goal but im not about to start judging players yet.to be honest i didn't think butler was brilliant either....worth a place ahead of foyzer??im not so sure!but as i said lets give them a chance to show what they can do!also think i would prefer mckenzie at centre half instead of ventre.i know he's tough and gets stuck in but i don't see him as any more than a squad player.Overall though i feel the squad is a lot stronger than last season and it could be a very exciting season for us!
