With 2 reps from each club in the same place at the same time would it not be a good idea to get together and form an NLSA type organization, one that's not just a give us tickets or else type group

The FAI should be reminded that there are 22 clubs in the Eircom League and NOT just those playing in the Premier Division.
If they had taken this view at the start of last season then Kilkenny, Limerick 37 etc mightn't be in the precarious situation they find themselves in.
I'm talking about CPO's in ALL clubs not just the "elite".
The lower clubs, on much less income, need this assistance more than the successful ones. Whilst this imbalance remains the gulf between the Premier and the First Divisions widens and we all know what happens then.

Does the FAI plan to establish a fixed date for the Cup Final in future (e.g. one week after end of the season/ Bank Holiday weekend etc.) rather than last year's ad hoc scheduling?

Given a fair number of people attending were involved with NLSA, I doubt there will be sufficient interest.

All, the sham that takes place in City west ( The FAI awards) where the shakers and movers rub shoulders with the rest of us. The FAI proudly state that they are involved in all levels of our society. I also understand we are just 1 strand in this large organization, my question is, How many people at the awards attend EL Games, how many people at the awards have ever been inside a National League ground, if, as is claimed that a large cross section of society will be there. I would guess that 50% of those attending have never been inside an LOI ground. What can the FAI do about this?

AFAIK the clubs pay the wages of the CPO. How are the likes of Kilkenny, Limerick, Atlhone, similar 1st Division clubs suppose to do this and "Promote the Club", if some of us sometimes struggle to pay players, debtors, etc., let alone pay wages for a CPO!
Surely if the FAI were trying to promote all 22 clubs in the eircom League They'd foot the bill or subsidise this as it would be in the leagues long term best interests.
All clubs clearly need to be promoted better locally & as all the clubs in the 1st Division get zero national coverage, especailly struggling clubs in the bottom half of the table, its like we dont even exist.

The FAI give a grant of €15k towords the wage and the club then has to match this

basically 2 fans reps from each el club have been invited(or that's my understanding of it anyway) some of which are members of this board, so I think it'd be a good idea to have a thread of suggestions that the lads might be willing to raise at the meeting.

    Suggestions

    1. pump some of the 45 million Delany was bragging about today into a proper media campaign promoting the league

    2. further pressure on government for funding for clubs, particularly with a view to improving facilities.

    3. voice fans displeasure at random ridiculous fining of clubs
    1. Waste of money!

    2. Very good idea.

    3. Don't be silly. Who wants to listen to someone thats attacking them.

Also, surely a full time youth academy for th eleague and country to keep our U-14 to U-18 internationals at home until ready for 1st team action in the UK.

That is a good idea. Something more should be done in this area with progressing young players at that age.

Sent an e-mail to Noel Mooney a while ago offering myself and Steno to attend for KCFC. Alas, after two e-mails, and still no reply, I had assumed that some people had already arranged to attend.

Hope it goes well for those attending tomorrow. Perhaps somebody could draw light to the lack of assistance that D1 clubs get.

will someone ask the league director in light of his press statement about kilkenny who he believes are not worthy of membership and is he going to sit and wait for them to go to the wall or will he help them (go to the wall)

Yes, please ask that one for me too (I cannot attend, as I am at a wedding).

    His quote is:
    "Fran Gavin
I have no doubt that other clubs will arrive at the same crossroads as Kilkenny and face the same questions and I hope they answer them as honestly as Kilkenny have."
For the Director of the League to come out with a statement like that is unbelievable. (Thinking it is one thing, saying it is another.)

I think it went well. Fran Gavin, Noel Mooney & Padraig Smith spoke, about 35 fans turned up. FAI offices so far from the road no chance of a Maxi attack again

I supported the FAI running the league last year mainly because it could not be worse than league running itself & seems to be a lot going on in the background.
