Davies to be appointed manager on Wednesday according to Skynews! I am cracking up laughing here. Someone tell me this is a wind up. They have changed it now to interview on Wednesday.

Is it a prerequsit to be appointed Irish Manager that you must have been sacked by an english club? Skys Sports are completely taking the pis s on this. I remember they confirmed exclsusivley that Redknapp was in Newcastle to sign as manager, he was actually at home on the south coast, good job Sky.

Nobody can confirm that as the 3 man panel have already said they wont say who they have and have not interviewed on this so the only way it can be confirmed is by Davies saying it himself.

nothing wrong with interviewing davies as a third choice. no one will be appointed til the 10 days are up at least with a possible extra extension.

It sounds like a move by Davies' advisors to get his name into the spotlight. Give the impression the interview is in fact a job offer.

Davies has not been interviewed. He is reported to have said that he will meet the FAI on Wednesday and if they will offer him the job he will take it.

Could we have scripted this in all our wildest imaginations last November?

No offence to BD but please please please...FAI u cannot appoint this man.

I just can't believ that the FAI will give it to this guy after making us wait for 3 months. When Traps name was mentioned I thought that maybe the FAI were finally getting somewhere, now this.

3 words can desbribe Billy Davies becoming Ireland manager:"WORSE THAN STAUNTON"
I'd rather see Roddy Collins become manager than him.

In fairness, people like to twist what Sky say for some strange reason. They got the Trapattoni story right, and the Houllier one in the end. You simply cannot trust people on the internet when they say "SSN said...".

According to a guy on boards (I haven't been watching Sky):
Sky doesn't say that, Sky says he will meet the FAI Wednesday and accept the job if offered.

To my mind Howe has leaked this to make his buddy Tel look good.Tel has the FAIlures over a barrel on the salary front so they desperately want to make a contest of it.Hence Il Trap! Can I just play Devils Advocate, whats so bad with Billy Davies? He has worked minor miracles with 3 clubs and zero budget,he's young and hungry with a point to prove,he can't afford to screw up or he'd be left vying with John Robertson to manage a big club like dunfermline!Scots are football geniuses.QED!

    WOW!!!

Liverpool have one of the best away records in the EPL. It's more likely to get the boss the sack.

Jewell has won f all for 2 months against Blackburn, Wigan, Preston et al at home. How would he fare against Italy, Bulgaria and Montenegro??

It has just been on again and is the opening story. They keep saying FAI sources? Who are these sources?
