Might be an idea to bring it back in some form, possibly a competitive pre-season competition, similar to the defunct super cup

Turned into a bit of a joke at the end.
Even had Monaghan United from Ulster playing in it!

I would love to see it make a return in some shape of form, perhaps as a competition for Leinster sides in the First Division down... that way all the Leinster Premier League sides would be represented by their A league sides.

The original Leinster Senior Cup is currently on display in the Dublin Writers Museum, Parnell Street, Dublin 1 as part of their exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Oliver St John Gogarty. Gogarty won the LSC with Bohs in 1896.

I had it in my gaff for 2 days before I could get it dropped in.

Where does it live normally ghBohs ?

Anyone know what happened to the final LSC trophy ? Did the last winners get to keep it ?

You can normally find it looking pretty lonely in the Bohs trophy room nestled between a half a can of Mr Sheen and one of those Millenium milk bottles the corpo handed out in '88.

The FAI gave it to Bohs when the tournament was scrapped because they'd won it more often than anyone else.

<edit> As far as I'm aware it was the only version of the trophy ever used.

Surely it was a Leinster FA decision, not an FAI one....?

You might get 300 or so bored souls at Turner's Cross for a City game. The smaller crowds would be an eerie experience, watching a half strength team from a virtually empty Shed, with echos instead of roars. Sitting on the steps with a box of chips from the ever present Good Stuff van, wondering what we'd do if they ever built up the Cross with seats. We concluded they'd build around the Shed

The Dublin City Cup or 'City Cup' was a bit of a misnomer. It was a competition all league clubs participated in. Usually played as a knockout cup competition, a few times it was played as a one-series league (during the 40a when there were only 8 or 10 teams in the league.) It had the interesting distinction of using corner count as a tie-breaker. I think the final was decided on corner count more than once! It ran from (about) the mid-30s to the early 70s.

In fact, here are some details......
