Game swung on a goal just before half time - we were caught forward and they had about 6 people in the box. Different team in the 2nd half and we never really threatened.

Their keeper was man of the match - deserved it too although made a c****** as soon as it was announced for Stevie's consolation. - he did make one great save in the first half and looked very solid. I thought we were the better team up until half time but no doubt a fair result.

Never really got going and didn't dominate for much.

Always a desperate place to get a result. We went 10 years without a win over dundalk in the 80's.

Steve O'Flynn worked hard and was outr best player. Paddy Purcell was badly missed at the back.

    What was the team?

A very disappointing result - more because of the position a win would have put us in rather than anything else. Dundalk had to win at some stage but why did it have to be us.

We seem to really be missing a cutting edge this year - a decent goal hanging striker. Stevo is a fine player but has to drop too deep to get ball and then isn't there when the ball is in the box. I think we need to play a bit wider. We have useful wingers but they never seem to get a cross into the box.

Dundalk...It's always Dundalk isn't it . Did not go to the game but heard JF was very Dodgy again last night. I am risking accusations of being CRITICAL (Bit of a Banana skin there) to Players here but what about Young Loughman. He is far better in the air and faster to react to danger. Agree about Stevo he is doing the work of another player on top of his own. Why does he take corners and have to bring play form midfield. We need somone to feed him. He is our only obvious goal scorer.

GK - Healy (Too inconsistent, made a couple of fine saves but could be faulted for a couple of the goals)
RB - O'Mahony (Not bad but nowhere near as impressive as he was against Galway)
LB - Molan (Strong in the tackle and commited but his passing was generally wayeard)
CB - Keating (Did well overall and contributed going forward as well even if there were a few positional lapses)
CB - Finucane (Generally competent. Held onto the ball for too long at one point and was nearly punished but that aside he was alright)
RM - Colm Heffernan (Tracked back well but still missing last years sparkle going forward)
LM - Gareth Cooney (Ran about a lot without seeing much of the ball and didn't really impose himself)
CM - Brendan Sweeney (Limerick's best player on the night. Never stopped running and putting himself about)
CM - John Whyte (Did well also and looked sharper than he has in a while as well. Had a good game)
FW - Derek McCarthy (Worked hard but nothing broke for him and he ran out of steam. Still doesn't look the same player as before)
FW - Stephen O'Flynn (Took his goal with with a good finish because empty net or not the ball was running away from him. Looked busy throughout but again was forced to drop deep in search of the ball at times)

    Subs were Foley and O'Donoghue.
The ball is round and has many surprises.
