    Your heroes 11

I want as many opinions as possible on this. We all have players who we really admire, they may not be playing at the top level or they could be part of the elite of world soccer past and present.
    My personal favourites.
    GK Andoni Zubizarretta
    RB Denis Irwin
    LB Paolo Maldini
    CB Paul Mc Grath
    CB Franco Berasi
    LM Trevor Sinclair
    RM David Ginola
    CM Xavi
    CM Roy Keane
    FC Van Basten
    FC Paolo Di Canio
    Barca 2 vs manchester 0

Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

I realise the thread is about heroes, rather than great players, but your post reads as almost a "who's who" of the greatest Irish players ever. I did realise you hadn't included him, my post was a casual way to inquire, given his performances for Ireland, why he wasn't there, if you felt like humouring me. You clearly didn't feel like humouring me.

    Erik Thorstvedt,
Cafu, Ronald Koeman, Kevin Moran, Paulo Maldini
Brian Laudrup, Michael Laudrup, Gazza, Damien Duff,
Marco Van Basten and Gary Lineker.

Out of the above, Van Basten is the player I'd admire most.

Actually, substitute Frank O'Neill for Paulo di Canio. Probably my all time favourite player. Never failed to beat the full back. Just stood on the terraces at Milltown in awe as Frank would show the fullback the ball and then beat him like clock work.

    My heroes eleven :

    GK Spiderman
    LB Bluntman
    CB Sandman
    CB Orangeman
    RB The Hulk
    LW The Silver Surfer
    CF Batman
    CF Bananaman
RW The fat Japanese kid with the glasses
    FW Superman
    FW Roy of the Rovers

    Bench :
Captain America (until he learns the rules a bit better & stops calling it 'soccer').
Catwoman : probably a half decent keeper, even if she is a bird.
Super Ted : Good first touch and right-foot like a hammer, but likely to offend certain religious groups if not labelled correctly.
