A few of you lads are talking about PR and creating an interest around Limerick. Getting folks into the habit of visiting LFC at home. An idea to get media coverage and possibly entice folks to revisit eL soccer and generate cash for the club would be a festival of soccer.
September Sunday afternoon start with match of Limerick heroes of the past. Parade of Champions get the FAI and el to lend the cups LFC have won over the years and have winning captains presented to fans old and new band playing big deal and then the highlight charity cup match.
LDMC could be convinced to give an afternoon off to the champs of the premier or junior selection and if it was in Jackman park share receipts, (they love money) and Jackman is where we won the 1st Div with big Sam. Kids in for a Euro and Dads for a fiver.
I reckon it would shut a lot of people up if LFC could show a good performance. I do not know any genuine soccer fan in Limerick who would not want to see that game.
If the new supporters club want to get on the map this would definitely deliver a lot of attention and no small amount of cash.
This is called running an idea up a mast and see who salutes it. A recepie for hard work and tears.
You're ruining a grand game
