I didn't watch, as Award ceremonies (particularly Irish ones) give me piles.

Who was this "Comedian" employed? (the only Non FAI one there, I mean. ) It wasn't that Oliver Callan gobshyte, was it? The one from the 'hillarious' nob nation Gift Grub knock-off show?

Cos he's about as funny as a natural disaster and he's cheaper than a real comedian, so he'd suit the FAI down to the ground.
On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"

    And they nearly did.

I think it was him. Worst comedian I've ever heard or seen. Everyone in the place looked embarrassed. The FAI must be saving up. A few of them are surely due a payrise soon.

They should have got TJ and TJ to play two FAI buffoons rather than 2 guards.

I only saw bits and pieces of the Awards show but that "comedy interlude"
was shocking. Was that RTE's doing? Judging by the rubbish they've
been peddling lately I wouldnt be surprised

Whatever about the dire jokes, the impressions themselves were brutal.
I was praying for Maxi to storm the building so the act would be cut short.

Sexist little dig at Emma Byrne when presenting hers ... "Careful now, its heavy!"

Oh Lord Help us, that was embarressing.Anybody else watch it through their fingers. The schoolboy jokes by Peter Collins followed by the painfully unfunny George Bush impression. The blank expressions on the faces of everyone in the audience was funny I suppose(apart from some great looking Blonde who who was all smiles for the camera).Next year they should just hire David Brent and be done with it.

Dreadful stuff. Peter the plank Collins with a sexist "joke" and George Hamilton talking up Stan's campaign and also suggesting that it was ok for us not to qualify because the UK teams didn't either. Enjoyed Paddy Mulligan and Big Jack but nothing new there and just an attempt at a feel good factor. The interviewer, whose name eludes me (senior moment) was good though.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

John has just been voted Football League apprentice of the month for Jan 08. Playing regular reserve games now for Wolves and he hasn't even been there a year.
