[QUOTE=redron;839886]Personally, I'm happy enough with Kerley in charge for the time being. He got us to the play-offs in 2003. I know we finished bottom in 2004, but that was hardly his fault. He had no money to build a squad, so most of the better players were snapped up by other clubs with more money to spend. For those who were actually at a few games that season, think of the number of times Kerley had to play himself, or play Fyffe outfield! The squad was the smallest in the league -- only 14 or 15 or something like that.
Given the budgetary constraints that the club is working under (i.e. income is not huge), it's not surprising that the net fell so close to home when fishing for a new manager.
So I have no problem with giving Kerley a chance.
Kerley came last with no money. Then he went to Waterford (again very small budget) and had a nightmare few months (no wins in many games). Limerick by all accounts will have, again, a very small budget. Why would you want Kerley when he has twice shown he cant do the job with no money. If the club were in a position to get a few quality players (like they had in his play off year) fair enough. Sound bloke who you would want to see do well but this is a case of wrong club at the wrong time.
