Four City Players Awarded CIT Bursaries

CIT last night awarded six soccer bursaries at their Bursary Night, at which Cork City manager Damien Richardson was a guest speaker. Richardson also presented the bursaries, four of which went to Cork City FC players: Wesley Tong, James Croake, Gary Philpott and Ray Lally.

The City boss told CorkCityFC.ie: “I first of all want to congratulate CIT on an occasion which reflects perfectly the wonderful progression made in the Irish Third Level sports programme. CIT is obviously an institution that creates a very positive environment for all its sports people. Consequently it was rewarding for Cork City FC to be a part of such an impressive evening and to be so well represented among the highly impressive 74 recipients.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Are you sure he didn't get one? It says 4 City players out of 6!?

Some contact details here. More details here. It would be a good piece in the Ramblers programme for the first game of the 2008 season.

Pass on the info to the programme editor if you dont write a piece, someone else might do it. Always looking for content programme editors are

Ken Murphy and Eoin Ryan are the other two soccer recipients. Along with Wesley Tong, James Croake, Gary Philpott and Ray Lally.
Ken Murphy plays with Ramblers and Eoin Ryan does too.(I think he's a keeper)

Bella i'd say he reason Graham didn't get one is because he didn't apply. To get a bursary you have to apply. If he did he most definetly would have got one.
    LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
