I just think its very very sad to see a young girl like her in this condition. She hasn't regained consciousness since Sunday night and there are fears now that even if she does pull through, that there will be some brain damage.

I wish her, and her family all the best in this trying time.

i dont mean to sound thing, but there are probably lots of people in this situation or have been. what is the need to open a thread for someone just cos they are famous?! or because you dont want to bash her?! ( I dont know her and I have no opinion on her, I might add )

Id feel fake saying whats been said here as i dont know her, but anyone in the condition that she is in is terrible and you would feel for them at such a young age - and her family and for that i hope she recovers.

I dont know exactly what happened is she just in a coma then? ITs hard to wish someone well when ye dont know exactly whats wrong with them

Yes, agree with the 2 posts.

I don't know her and have only seen her on TV. We all make character judgements based on media personae, which are generally misplaced.

Hope she gets better - and would do so if she was a factory worker from Location X with no media profile.

Shocking really, and just heightened because of her fame.

I find the level of hatred towards her unbelievable. She's a young girl, fighting for her life. God love her family.Its nothing to do with her being famous. The speculation of how it happened is a great side show for the tabloids.

TBH, joeSoap, I wouldn't have started this thread if you were trying to avoid ghoulish speculation and the like, which it's bound to attract. I'm sure most of us, myself included (she seems like a nice girl), wish her well and hope she recovers, regardless of what people may think of her celebrity. There's not a whole lot more than that to be said until there are any further developments.

I've been pretty taken aback by some of the crass innuendo in the papers, but that might be a discussion for another time.

i hope she gets better and its prob naive of me to hope the cause of her illness is not the sinister one being bandied about but i really do.

The reason I opened the thread is because its topical, she is pretty much a celebrity, and is pretty much all over the media. I'm presuming that a thread can be of interest to people without having to descend to slagging off what is obviously a very sad, tragic situation.

The speculation of how it happened is a great side show for the tabloids.

You can't expect to be able to control the media when you court it at practically every opportunity like Katy French did. She has done well from her media exposure previously and now the media are getting their payback, my point is crass and insensitive but that is the way it is.

Though I don't like particularly like saturated coverage of anybody - particularly celebrities, I still don't see what justifies the reaction that she has got.

Something very untoward has occurred. I wish her a speedy recovery. 24 year old girls who are not obese are not exactly candidates for heart attacks. I speak from experience here I had three consecutive heart attacks at 40 and I was overweight and even that was a bit too early to be experiencing those. It's a long road back from heart problems and this will curtail all sorts of activities she has been seen to be enjoying in the not so distant past.

Modern day celebrity, particularly that of the z lister, is crass and vulgar and meant to be a car crash. In that respect Katy French's illness and subsequent rumours (coming hot on the heels of her 'shocking' cocaine admission) thinks all the tabloid boxes so I'm surprised people are surprised they have gone that direction. Personally I'd rather she didn't die obviously, but I don't see why she warrants a thread, it's rock bottom tabloid comment and analysis come to horrible life on Foot as far as I'm concerned
