    Foot.ie! Tonights Game

    From the FAI site:

At Pike Rovers' SC, in-form Limerick take on Galway United who are still looking to kick-start their season (Kick off 7:30).

Limerick boss Mike Kerley is delighted with his side's form having won four and drawn one of their last five games. "We are playing well and I am delighted with our form. We went to Finn Harps looking for a result and got one which shows how well we are doing."

Kerley will probably name himself on the bench after losing two of his players this week; Michael Molan (sic) and Shane O'Donoghue, because of college commitments though he will welcome Brendan Sweeney back from suspension.

For Galway United, Barry Moran is out with an ankle injury as the Terryland Park outfit look to kick start their season. Two weeks ago, a 5-0 demolition of Cobh Ramblers looked to have set the ball rolling for Tony Mannion's side but after throwing away a two-goal lead against Dublin City last week, they came down to earth with a bump.

"We're actually playing quite well and scoring plenty of goals but we're not getting the results that I feel we deserve. Yes we haven't lost since the first day of the season, but the thing is we've only won once," Mannion said.

"There's a fine line between being an attacking side and getting caught out and even when we go ahead we still race forward looking for another. With a bit more experience, maybe we'd be more pragmatic, but we can't become a side that only attacks some of the time - that would lead to other bad habits."

Predictions then? I'm going to go with my gut and say 2-1 Limerick. Galway aren't a bad side but our recent results show that we shouldn't be afraid of anybody in this division and we should be looking to win especially at home! With Molan out are we gonna see Frankie back in at left-back?

Or maybe play Sweeney and John Whyte in the middle and Keating at left-back?

Now that Derek O'Brien is gone I'll have nobody to slag either...
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I'm going to go for a 1-0 win for the blues. Pat Purcell to add to his tally.

This will keep our run of clean sheets going.

I'd rather Kerley played himself at left-back. Back 4 of O'Mahoney, Finucane, Purcell, Kerley Midfield (R-L) Keating, Sugrue, Sweeney, Cooney with Stevo and Derek up front. Haven't seen the Kerry lads yet so looking forward to that.

By the way - is it a coincidence that Limerick's fine defensive form comes along when we have names in the back four of O'Mahoney and Finucane once again?

That's what he gets for throwing slaps at 18-year old right-backs!
