Leinster usually play on Friday nights. Besides, it's much to big for them and would cost them too much to rent.
is there something I'm missing here ?
execellent ground (by EL standards)
all seater
great transport links
in Rovers south dublin heartland
what's the problem ?
some disruption from horse show / leinster rugby, but only minor
Leinster usually play on Friday nights. Besides, it's much to big for them and would cost them too much to rent.
ground sharing with leinster would not be a problem
they only play there every second friday and fixtures could be arranged accordingly, this is very common and not a problem (watford, wycombe, wigan, reading, swansea all share with rugby clubs)
why would the rent be so high ? It would be in RDS's interest to get Rovers back and they wouldn't proce them out of it
i cannot understand why
1 - they left the RDS
2 - they don't go back (for the short term, medium term or long term, although IMO RDS is a better option than Tallaght when completed)
as for the size, I don't think it would be a problem, it only holds about 18,000, which isn't that much bigger than tolka or dalymount
Especially seeing Rovers were seeking Donnybrook (Leinster's old ground) as a venue so they are obviously lines of communication there between the two. The reason they left would have to be financial something that we don't know about, mind u the pitch was shocking plus it wouldn't be much better if the egg - chasers are tearing it up all day on the Friday.
I'm sure they could organise their fixtures for days when Leinster are playing away etc.
Simple reason= way too expensive.
Ireland: Discovered!
why so expensive ? are there hidden costs we don't know about ?
it woudl be in ther RDS's interests for them to play there, would they price them out of it ?
even if there were bigger costs it would be worth it - they would get bigger crowds at RDS
donnybrook is another obvious venue for them when it is done up
why are rovers even bothering with the the tallaght move when there are not one but two decent stadiums in prime locations in their traditional heartland ?
do you know why the donnybrook talks fell through (or are they ongoing?)
the rugby and pitch wouldn't be a big deal and would only be short term anyway, leinster will be switching to donnybrook and landsdowne for mnay games once completed, and even in the meantime the seasons only overlap partially
your board, you should know..... www.google.ie could help you.
i could tell you but your retarded reply compells me not too.

Anyone else think Rovers not going to Donnybrook might have something to do with local community (ie the Ross O'Carroll - Kelly crowd) not wanting them around.
Rovers average crowds of 2,000 would be lost in 18,000 capacity stadium. Games could be arranged around Leinster matches easily considering we have a summer football season. I suspect the rent for the RDS will be the same whether there are 18,000 or 2,000 supporters due to security, stewarding, lights etc...
The RDS is not that great anyway, it is just a field with 3 mobile stands.
Hehehe. Rovers and Team Leinster in cahoots. The hatred for the Southside grows ever stronger ...![]()
Because if Gabriel doesn't rollerblade to the Chelsea Piers then the terrorists have truly won.
So whats the latest Hoopy, are rovers back to tolka next season or are they going to have a base in south dublin?
"Now jump up there and stuff that son of a bitch in the basket, chief"
What's happening with the stadium in Tallaght?
