I found Desperate Dan bars and Wham bars in the Spar in Clonskeagh recently, hadn't had one in years!
have to be in the 10 to 15p bracket
these were always
within budget treats in my day
1 Macaroons (at ten p they couldnt be beat on price - and seemed immune to inflation that ruined many classics, but they left a lot of grainy **** in your mouth)
2 Kalipsos (really tough toffee covered in chocolate- wrecked your teeth again only 10 pence - lasted for ages though as you needed hours to eat the feckers)
3. Smileys - orangey chocalate chew- again only 10p , the day they stated charging 12p was the day the music died maaan) can anyone remember the chocolate version? without the orangey lark?
pankys - wafer choc bars - cheap as fu.ck

We're not arrogant, we're just better.
wham were the pink chewy things with the sparkley dust?
thought they took it off the market after those reneck kids went blind a few years back
I remember now it was called a Chomp
cadburys made it
and at 10p it
was the only semi decent bar you could afford as a kid
Probably dont qualify but they were like Kalipsos
but in the shape of a mouse (not computer one!)
and only cost 2p or 5p in the good old days.
Wrecked your jaws and teeth though!
How much were Stinger Bars?

Refresher Bars!
Desperate Dan Bars!
All certain to leave you toothless by 20!
The ball is round and has many surprises.
I think you can still get Mr Freeze, although they might be
under a different name.
Sparkler ice pops for 10p were the kings of cheapness, along
with those cans of Smack Cola, Lemonade and Orange
Or those crappy little bottles of Score Cola, then copied by
Homestead - put you high as a kite

or did they all do those self made "10 penny mix bags"
you'd get a black jack, a fruit salad, a coca cola bottle and one covered in sugar, a flog (member flogs???), possibly some sort of soother in gumy form, a gummy bear, and a false teeth yoke that u could eat
Shop beside me sold those 10p Lucky Bags.
You'd get a black jack type sweet, a packet of those
sherbetty type sweets, a whistle/Kazoo and usually a
sitcker with Speedy Gonzales in a Celtic or Rangers top!

oasis
no not the band but the cool pop type thing
it broke the coolpop trend in narrow stick packaging by just being a lump of coloured ice in a square plastic pack, usually in green flavour i reckon 15p
u couldnt slush it up either like a mr freeze as it was literally a hard block of ice
the cheapest drink was a plastic yoke of non fizzy cola with a foil top on it like it was a yoghurt or something, name escapes me, man it was cheap
