I'd endorse him, he's had cup success virtually everywhere he's been. Certainly a better option than Venables or Souness.

The plot thickens!

best candidate available
Haan has something that none of the other candidates have going for them. He was great player in truly great Dutch teams. He scored 2 of the best goals anyone is ever likely to see against Italy. Two longs shots that Dino Zoff did'nt get anywhere near. He has great respect in Holland. And he wants the Dutch job. Has slated Van Basten as a type of Stan ie can't coach, manage, tactics etc. He has 2 WC runners-up medals. If he isn't interviewed for the job then there really is something wrong. Robson, Giles, Howe and Pleat have all seen him play. Robson would be aware of what he has done in European club management. I loved watching those Dutch teams. We have been waiting for someone of this calibare to declare his interest.
He has had 14 jobs since 1984. He averages about a year in a job before moving on.
His agent must of heard of the wages Stan was getting and thought easy money.
Sounds like a man for us alright
seems he's got the qualifications we are all looking for, along with Hodgson and Houllier, should definitely be given an interview. Time wasters of Venables ilk need not apply.
as long as he's no relation to "Eoin Haan".....
"The Irish team has some talented players such as Robbie Keane and Stephen Ireland and the lads have a great fighting spirit, which I always admired when playing against them,” said Haan in a statement issued via his Hong Kong based agent, Mark Mullan. “The team has great potential and I’d love to get.."
I don't remember Arie playing against us, I don't think he did.
The Gift Grub lads will have a field Day!
Just spoke to a colleague of mine from Cameroon, showed him the article on 11aside and asked what happened with Haan over there. Apparently he didn't like the unprofessionalism of the Cameroon FA and thought the team could go places but scarpered because of his high standards and he didn't fancy being held back by unprofssional plebs. Sound familiar? He sounds like a good pro to me and wouldn't be afraid to give the likes of Delaney a bollicking if things weren't up to scratch. He also sounds like a man who'd rule a bunch of spoiled players with an iron fist and gain some respect. Hire the man asap and let him give Keane and co. the kick up the backsides they need.
If any of you irish fans still pray, get down on bended knee at once and start. This is the man for the job and the man we need. No excess baggage, no spoofing, no friends of a man in the know just pure and simple a footballing legend both as a player and a top class manager.
I'd love to think that the FAI will give him an interview but I genuinely think that unless you're Irish, then you have to have at least either played or managed in Britain for a number of years. There seems to be a genuine reluctance to even interview people with no experience of Irish or British football.
2 of the goals he scored WC78
