Likewise. Naples is a dump though. I'd rather Florence (dunno if they have the capacity though).

    Could be anywhere.....

A lot of new stadia are due to open in the next 12 - 18 months, any of which could be selected for our qualifier with the Azzurri.I e-mailed the FAI re possible venues, their instant reply, basically said they had no clue, and were unlikely to have for quite some time.BTW....for those gambling on Rome or Milan, consider the possibility of Cagliari or Palermo hosting our game.

Was at both venues during Italia '90. We stayed in Malta & travelled by Catamaran to both Sicily & Sardinia. Ryanair fly direct to Cagliari (Sardinia) which would be very handy.

not quite true in fairness to them, they'll still sell of a high% of tickets very cheaply, the trick is to get in early, on the otherhand aerlingus will already have the prices increased for all Italian cities around the game as they did with Germany 2 yrs ago.

I was speaking to someone who knows about this sort of thing and they said that there are no restrictions to what prices they charge and its not against the rules for them to put the prices up to whatever they want. They all generally have a system in place of how they change the prices as the plane fills up, however they do not have to do this in any transparent way, they can charge whatever they like.

Spot on, but it seems to be Ryanairs policy to let their pricing module take over and increase the prices as they sell more seats. When they load up the fares for 7 or 8 months ahead etc they take into account football matches etc, but where the flights are already on sale they dont seem to put them up unlike aerlingus. Badedn Baden, and Bratislave last time around where available very reasonable for a good while after they went on sale.

there's always a way round these things, its not like italy is a nightmare if you are prepared to go somehwhere else first. I remember when we went to stuttgart i got great value with air france by flying through Paris and then into stuttgart airport, with only a thirty minute stopover, all for about €120 return

'Football Fans Denounce Market Capitalism' shock.

I have no problem with them jacking up the prices. It just makes finding a way around all the more fun.

You could take a chance and book rome flights, and take a train if needs be.

If you read my post you will see that I do not express an opinion in it. Just stating a fact actually.

It will have to be one of the big stadiums, of which there are only 3 with sufficient capacity, Milan, Rome, or Naples. They'll easily get 80,000 at any one of those. It is a key game in the group.
