We weren’t far out of Dublin, mulling over our start to the season and, in particular, where the goals were going to come from, when there came a phone-call – we’d signed Dessie Baker on loan! Cue much delight. “Cool – except we can’t abuse him any more!”, said one fan. “What?” “Isn’t he the long-haired lad?” “Yeah.” “Missed a penalty for Athlone against us?” “That’s Greg Costello!” “Oh…who’s Dessie Baker then?” Quite why he was so pleased we’d signed Greg Costello is a mystery…

What prophecy from the STIG lads as usual!!! Greg Costello is apparently training with us with a view to signing for the season. It's another full-back, granted, but he'd give us a bit more stability in the defence, surely?

Do you remember just how horrendously bad a footballer Costello was and probably still is?

About the only positions we're fairly OK in are our full backs and we're looking at getting another one.

But this isn't any ordinary full-back!

This one is 33, out of shape and not very good to begin with. Suddenly the world is looking much better...

We can sign Greg Costfuchingello but we can't bring in someone with a bit of talent from England?

We are also apparently signing Dublin Ctiy's 3rd choice goalkeeper. He's bound to be an improvement on Barry Andrews.
